Has anyone TTC before post mortem results?

The wait is so long so we would like to TTC before... But at the same time I'm nervous!

My baby girl didn't have a postmortem but we are awaiting results from the placenta and cord which can take up to 6 months! But I am going to be TTC before then (once my partner agrees anyways 😬)! I hope that whatever caused it would be treatable later on in the pregnancy. I do have a two year old as well and my pregnancy with him was fine so I'm hoping it's something that couldn't have been prevented 🤞🏻 I am nervous too, make sure you have lots of support around you 🤍

It took 6 months to get our post mortem results back. I was just so desperate to be pregnant again, so tried pretty much straight away and got pregnant within 3 months. It’s whenever you feel ready to 🌈🌈

@Leah did you feel the postmortem helped provide a reason or you with any peace?

Tbh with you my whole pregnancy I had a feeling something was going to go wrong, so I had already prepared myself. We struggled to get pregnant and all I wanted to do was be able to give birth, and that’s what I did and I made it an enjoyable experience in case I never got the chance again. In the moment you can’t understand why it has happened to you and not someone else and you’re craving for answers as to what happened. At the same time I thought well why shouldn’t it happen to me? There’s a reason that’s happened and I’m strong enough to get though it, as are you🩷 I was told it was due to a placental abruption, but I now think it was cervical insufficiency which caused the placental abruption. I had a cervical stitch put in at 19+5 weeks this time as my cervix was shortening and I would have gone into pre term labour again. This isn’t something they check for unless you’ve had previous losses, so I’d really ask to have this checked when you fall pregnant again xx

@Leah just here to say that I too felt the whole pregnancy that something was going to go wrong but kept trying to push it to the back of my head. Never imagined walking out of that hospital with my baby girl. The way you have explained it in your second paragraph is beautiful 🩷 xx

@Hanna so strange! I had a weird feeling throughout the pregnancy, but put it down to anxiety about having a baby and toddler & transitioning to 2 kids etc. I said to my husband 2 weeks before 38w stillbirth that I was really anxious and keep feeling something bad was gonna happen.

Yes! It was a very odd but real feeling! The day we were told there was no heartbeat I was putting her clothes in her drawers and I sent a picture to my partner saying I just can't imagine her wearing any of this stuff! X
