Flying heavily pregnant

Has anyone flew over state over 36 weeks pregnant? My grand mother just died and we were extremely close and it kills me that I have to miss her funeral, would any dr give me an exemption or is it out of the picture 😭

36 weeks is too late unfortunately because you can give birth at any point and the cabin pressure makes it risky. Sorry for your loss, my condolences ❤️

I flew at 36 weeks with both my pregnancies. You just need medical clearance from a doctor saying you're medically fit to fly. You can take your own precautions like wearing TED stockings and hydrating etc but if you don't have a high risk pregnancy it's perfectly OK to fly at 36 weeks. I'm a FIFO nurse so I flew heaps during pregnancy, and 36 weeks was the last few of my flights each pregnancy. Unfortunately cabin pressure making you go into labour is a myth xx Flight hostesses (and FIFO workers) have the option to fly up until 36 weeks because it's their job. It's more about thrombosis from sitting for long periods without moving so make sure you get up and walk the isle, and book an isle seat near the back so you can get up and walk, and be close to a bathroom 👌 Sorry for the loss of your grandma

You need to talk to your doctor. I wouldn'tve been approved to fly cos I had a high risk pregnancy, but you might be if you're low risk. Is driving or a train an option?

I flew at 36 weeks from Perth to Melbourne then back to Perth at 37 weeks had a letter from doc stating I was in good health (airline didn’t ask for it) My swelling started when I got on the flight and didn’t go down till I birthed Bub. So limited walking, feet raised, compression stockings were needed daily but I was fine

Absolutely fine if your pregnancy is low risk and normal. I’ve flown internationally that pregnant multiple times so wouldn’t hesitate to go domestic especially for a family funeral

In response to myself, I was a high risk pregnancy as I had multiple miscarriages and gestational diabetes. That’s why I went to the doc. He still cleared me. 🤷🏼‍♀️
