I had my 20 week scan yesterday and they didn’t even ask did we want to find out or mention gender at all. I think she was more focused on getting a good scan of all the measurements etc. I think the blood test is more accurate!
@Elizabeth ahh okay! I’m just conscious that as of right now, we won’t have any more scans so would be hard to find out unless we pay privately again! Yeah I’ve heard the stories about being told one and then it’s the other, I think I may just make sure we have a girl name ready just incase!!
@zara yes we had ours yesterday! She did ask us if we would like to know so we said yes but she said she couldn’t confirm when I asked later on in the scan but our baby is very stubborn so I can imagine she was very focused on getting all the info! I will have a look into the blood test for sure!
We had our 20 week a few weeks ago and we told the sonographer we knew she didn't confirm or deny the gender. She didn't even try and get a good picture and we just got a foot. If I only had 2 scans and that was one I'd be so upset.
@Leanne oh my god I’m so sorry! I can imagine , I would be upset too! Are you going to go for a private one to just get some more images and feel better etc? I’ve just spoken to my partner and I think we will go get another scan so then we can feel relaxed about it all
I think we're going to have some growth scans to double check but I was thinking about booking a 4d one later on :) you'll never regret having extra scans though so go for it :)
We had 20 weeks scan and couldn't get it due to position came back week later same thing lol went to FMU and she said I think its boy but couldn't be sure I'm bk 23 weeks we had a private and they showed us at 16 weeks lol but we not been told officials its a boy but going with that for now lol
With my second they couldn't tell at the 20 week or the 32 week that I had due to growth concerns. One tech thought she might have seen that it was a boy but she couldn't save for sure. It does happen that it gets wrong as well. Determining via scan isn't as accurate, and my manager was told boy and then was surprise by her daughter at birth. I don't have any rates but it is possible. We just went into each birth with more gender neutral things and had a name prepped for each, but then I've never been a fan of the overly gendered clothes so that would have been our preference either way 😅
