Used christmas gifts

So I'm struggling to make money for my little ones 1st christmas and I'm buying used baby toys that are in great condition. Is it wrong to give him used christmas gifts as oppose to new ones? I'm going to sanitize them and make sure all is in tact. I kinda feel guilty I can't really afford new gift but I also want to give him the best christmas

To be honest do what’s best for you financially. Yes we all want their first Christmas to be amazing but you’re doing a great job as a mother and give yourself grace.

It is not wrong at all!! And honestly it's better for the planet anyways. I'm sure he will love everything!

Not wrong at all. Search Facebook for local “buy nothing” or “gifting” groups. We get and give lots of great things, 95% of our baby furniture, toys, books and clothes have come from this. Saves money and less waste, especially since kids grow out of things so quickly.

My kids also get thrifted/secondhand gifts. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. Like Melissa said, secondhand options are so much better for the environment and honestly Christmas time especially has just turned into a big thing for big companies to get money (I can go on and on about it but I won’t lol) Anyways, I actually do gifts from Santa as secondhand gifts as long as they look good quality still because it gives the authenticity of it being made by elves rather than being in a store package 😊

Don’t feel bad. I make Christmas lists in August and try to find as much as I can while thrifting. If it can be washed/sanitized, it’s good enough for me. I also tell my family that I don’t mind if they thrift stuff either.

Your baby will literally not know the difference between new and used. I get most of my clothes and toys second hand year round.

Not at all!! Baby doesn’t understand and there’s nothing wrong with used toys just clean them up a little.
