I do pyjamas and a book on Christmas Eve (no Christmas Eve box, found it pointless last year and filled with random tut). When little ones are older I’ll probably add a hot chocolate kit. Then we do stocking presents from Santa, and then the actual gifts from us/the people who actually got it for them. I want my kids to be aware and thankful of people buying them presents x
I grew up with stocking from Santa and the rest from my parents/family. We grew up around people whose families didn't have much so our parents didn't want us talking about santa buying x,y, z for us and others getting upset by it.
We don’t do Xmas eve box. Stockings are from us and presents but anything like a “big present” is off us. Simply because we didn’t want our 9 yr old going to school and saying Santa got him an iPad for example when there may be a child less fortunate thinking well why didn’t Santa get me an. iPad. Hope that makes sense xx
we had stockings from santa and then everything else under the tree was from mum. christmas eve box i’m sure is some new thing created by influencers, swear i’ve only seen it the last couple of so years.🤣 anyway i don’t like the idea of it, i feel like if you’re getting presents on xmas eve, it takes away some of the gifts on xmas day a little!
Also don't do Christmas eve box here, just matching Christmas pyjamas for the family and maybe extra special hot chocolate. We are also going to do stockings from Santa and all other presents attributed to whoever bought them. Saw the idea of an advent box where you put all the Christmas stuff in (so it's not all new) then Christmas activities, jumpers and pyjamas etc. Might start doing that next year.
I asked my toddler what he would like Santa to bring him for Xmas and he said lots of Choo choos so we've bought a train set from Santa and the rest is from us. I asked him what his baby sister would like and he said books so we've got some books from Santa for her xx
When i was a kid everything was from santa 🎅. As I got older and was told santa isn't real presents from my parents. I will be doing the same with my boy. The only difference is pj's on Christmas eve and a new book but those are from me
Thank you everyone, not doing a Christmas eve box this year but needed advice as I grew up all presents were from Santa but won't sure if I wanted to do it different
I buy Christmas pjs for mine but give them at the start of December. I don’t do Xmas eve boxes anymore. I put small token gifts (bath stuff, books etc) in a stocking from Santa and 1 wrapped gift from Santa. All other presents including a main present is given from us x
We're doing one present from Santa and the rest from us, I don't want my children to go to school and a say they got X amount of things from Santa and then another child who didn't get as much for example get upset in any way x
We had stockings from Santa and a main present under the tree from mum and dad with a few little gifts from them as well. We’ve done the same for our little girl this year, one big present from mummy and daddy with a couple of smaller gifts and a couple of little ones from Santa!
I’ll be telling my little girl her gifts are from Santa until she grows up and finds out it’s actually her mum and dad 🎅🏻 it’s more magical this way but definitely going to do letters to Santa box when she’s old enough and a stocking will be little gifts that we will fill Christmas Eve and put all the presents under the tree that way it’s as if Santa has been x
@Romany I like this idea there seems to be so much pressure now with social media and everything
@Sam I definitely agree with you on that, we’re trying not to let it influence how we raise our daughter - I don’t agree with screens too much or overstimulating shows like Cocomelon etc but things like Santa and Christmas should be special and a time to cherish 🥰
We had stockings were filled up by Santa in the night but all the presents under the tree were from mum and dad lol
