Hospital vs Home birth expenses
Is anyone willing to share what their total hospital expenses were, from prenatal through birth? I'm trying to decide if having a home birth is financially a good idea but have nothing to compare the cost to. Wondering specifically what you owed after insurance as we do have coverage. Posting incognito as we haven't announced the pregnancy yet!

@Mackenzie so 10,000 for the hospital birth? Was that with or without insurance?
Both the hospital and birth center were with insurance

I went completely unmedicated with my 2 hospital births so it was just me getting there, having a baby, and leaving for reference. Those were around $10,000. I had a birth center birth that was a smidge over $5000- $4000 for the birth and $1000 for my prenatal visits and this time I’ll be having a homebirth which is $4000 but I decided to have a doula as well which is another $1000.
