Wow your mortgage is insaneeee i hope you guys plan to move
I’ve felt like this for a long time, with no way out of the cycle. There was a time where I couldn’t afford anything, and literally made a $100 over the poverty limit where I didn’t qualify for any assistance and couldn’t afford to pay for anything either lol. So I had no insurance and no money for years. My husband and I struggled and eventually his business got better and started making money. So I was able to quit my job after I got pregnant cause we can afford a family now. But I feel like a free loather cause I have never not had a job before
@Noelle there’s nowhere over here that we could get a cheaper mortgage unfortunately… our house was only $320k. It’s the interest rate that makes the payment so high. Our mortgage is $2,900 but we pay an extra $100 on it. That’s the cheapest of the cheap over here. And unfortunately my husband’s job is here and ALL of our family, friends, church. So it’s not as simple as just moving. 😕 we contemplated selling our house and renting instead, but homes for rent are $2,400-2,800 so it would make basically no difference. At least this way we have equity. 😩
I definitely understand what you mean and renting is super expensive these days
@Noelle it’s crazy I don’t know how anyone is surviving this. We make decent money it’s not like we’re even poverty or anything. 😩
Counting down til we leave for GA in 8 months! Can’t wait to have money again.
I wish we could convince our families to all move somewhere more affordable with us. It’s just not in the cards unfortunately… and we can’t leave our entire community…
Oh yeah and our childcare is $600/mo, which is a steal compared to what I know some others pay.
