Baby engaged

They tell you in your midwife appt. I had my 36 week one on xmas eve & she said baby is head down but not engaged yet x

It will be on your notes. Its done when they check baby's position

Sometimes baby won’t be engaged until moments before labour x

Baby usually engages right before labour in second or subsequent pregnancies xx

Baby can be constantly moving about until the moment they want to make their entrance I’ve taken the head engagement with a pinch of salt. For example I was 3/5s engaged at 31 weeks I was 2/5s at 33 weeks (not that I want to give birth vaginally anyways 😅) my friends baby was engaged and about to give birth when he little one did a 180 last minute and ended up having a c section because he then became breech. These babies have a mind of their own 🫣 I was also 3/5s engaged for I think about 9 weeks with my first according to my notes and ended up going over and being induced with my first

I asked at my 38w appt! Baby isn't engaged🤣! X

At my 36 week growth scan they said she was in my pelvis. They actually could not measure her head on the scan. At my 36 week midwife appointment the midwife said she is 4/5 engaged which I believe is the start of the engagement process. It's different for everyone

@Samantha that is because it’s your first pregnancy. Engagement usually happens a lot earlier for first than for second pregnancies. My first was engaged by 36 weeks too but this second one does not want to any time soon
