We are switching to a Christian health share thing instead of typical insurance cause it's too expensive....that's similar
@Annie I've heard awful things about those kinds of health shares. There's often a lot they won't cover and little oversight or regulations
Community funded health insurance... Maybe funded by the taxes we already pay? Possibly nationalized and not run for profit? Idk, sounds complicated, how every other developed country figured this out is a mystery.
I don’t think there’s enough people that care about their neighbor to make it work. We all saw how many people pushed back on masks during COVID even if it was to help the elderly not catch it or whoever.
I doubt that law makers and regulators would enjoy that very much. The health care industry in America is one of the biggest lobbyists groups in the entire country.
When the black panther party tried opening free health care clinics, the government & police decided it was time to label them as terrorists and they went and vandalized their space, and destroyed all the food rations, and medical supplies.

@Raqi I know it's maybe a bit of a risk but we cannot afford insurance anymore...my sister liked the company so I'm just hoping it works.
