@Dominika interesting, I’ve recently had a lot of lower backache too, but it was mainly from sitting for long periods of time and it seems to get better when I lay down! I also wake up on my back a lot but read that it is not really dangerous until later in pregnancy so I try not to worry about it although it’s hard! Ha
I’m 25+3 and have had a pregnancy pillow for months now… mainly due to me having a back condition which already can make sleep uncomfortable. You shouldn’t be sleeping on your belly at 25 weeks- I’m guessing you mean on your side ? If you don’t feel like you want or need a pregnancy pillow then you don’t have to buy one… I find mine helpful for having imbetween my legs and then up my back to stop me rolling onto my back in the night as that is also not advised at this point and further along in pregnancy. You could just use a couple extra pillows to be completely honest - that’s what I did when I was experiencing some back pain as they’re smaller than a pregnancy pillow and you can have them where you feel you need them if that makes sense ? So for me it would be one imbetween my legs to make my hips even and to ease any pressure or pain, and then a couple behind my back for support and one infront of me on my side which I usually hug. Just do what works best for you xx
@Liz I’ve always had backache from sleeping on my side but now having a big bump is making it worse so I also tuck the pregnancy pillow under my bump to lift it up a little
@Katie it’s kind of between my side and belly, sort of like a running man pose ha. I still have quite a small bump so my belly doesn’t feel squished in any way. Thats a good shout to try it with normal pillows first, I’ll give it a go before considering an actual one, at least for the sake of stopping me from rolling on my back, thank you!
I’ve been using mine for the past couple of days I’m 25+5 days and I find it helps me not sleep in my stomach although I’m still able to I don’t want to it helps me stay on my side and helps with back pain too
I am also 25weeks pregnant and I’ve bought a pregnancy pillow from the brand Theraline - I can definitely recommend it! I bought mine in a very good second hand condition on Vinted so would recommend that if you’re fine with second hand (the covers come off for washing). :)
Hey I’m 24+5 and I havnt bought one yet either, I don’t really feel like I need one yet, just more so to stop me moving around and to keep me in one position! They seem so big and bulking and honestly don’t know if we have room in the bed for it (the dog sleeps on the bed with us so that takes up a lot of space)🤣 xx
@jade my dogs also sleep on the bed all three of them, I’ve got a pregnancy pillow and the puppy sleeps on one of the sides of it I think he likes it more than me 🤣
My husband just ordered mine, but I could’ve done with it weeks ago to be honest we just kept forgetting! I had one my last pregnancy and it helped no end with the constant hip pain from 30 odd weeks on. This time, my back and pelvis are an absolute wreck and were killing me by about 20 weeks so have ordered a new, more robust one!
@jade @Samantha same here, our dog sleeps on the bed with us and I think he would be thrilled to have an extra pillow to lean on in his sleep 🤣
I don’t know why I went so long without one. It’s been amazing. I bought the Bellamoon one which can be used for breastfeeding and tummy time later one too. But I’m not sure my partner will ever get it out the bed again 😂😂 so comfy!!
I have one of the half moon ones that go either side of your back and bump best thing I purchased, I got a giant one and found it so uncomfortable.
@Liz honestly I swear the puppy likes the pillow more than I do 🤣
I’ve had a pregnancy pillow since I was 9 weeks. Sleeping on my side was killing my back and now sleeping is just giving me lower backache and it’s awful 🙃 I try to sleep on the side but I tend to wake up on my back still which stresses me out sometimes
