It may also be worth looking into any local community fridges or pantries, maybe get a budgeting advance if you’re in receipt of universal credit to help tie you over, maybe reach out to local churches/ community centres and see if they have anything they can do to support you. Xx
@Lucy thanks Lucy 💛 I will look into some of these. I don’t have a health visitor yet as I’m still pregnant but that’s good to know thank you. Do you think a midwife can issue a voucher?
I don’t know about the midwife, but your GP/ doctors surgery can for definite x
@Lucy do I need to book an appointment?
No, just speak to reception and they will take you through the process xx
Have you applied for your healthy start card yet? It isn’t much but can help a bit with fruit and vegetables etc. otherwise like Lucy said, get onto your gp or citizens advice and they can help you ❤️
It’s worth also to check Olio app 😊 Too good to go is also good to get over stock on the end of the day (some shops offer morning/afternoon pick up)
A midwife should be able to help you with it. When I told my midwife that me and my partner were on low income, she gave me all sorts of resources. She also gave me resources for essentials for my baby like Emma’s diary and you can get some stuff for free from boots as well. I’m pretty sure midwives can advise you and help you to make sure you are okay with stuff like that as it’s part of their job to take care of you and baby. Citizen’s advice as recommended, they can also help with things like universal credit and they can also tell you what else you’re eligible for and help you sign up for things
