Family members vs baby name

I think it matters more who YOU associate with the name when it comes to family names. My dad's a junior, and my son has his first name as a middle name, while it's not an association I make, as it's to honor my father, his father whom he got the name was a pedo and terrible. I'm sure it's a tad awkward for my grandma and others, but they've never said anything because they know I associate the name with the better of the two.
Exactly why I’m not telling anyone the name I chose until after birth. I made the mistake of mentioning the names I liked in the beginning and got slayed and the name ruined by absolutely rude family members and their nasty comments. Never again!

It’s so hard not to snap back sometimes, I feel you😅 I told my husband that we just weren’t talking about baby names anymore with family, too many opinions, but it’s hard to avoid lol. Now we’re on the same page though so we don’t even entertain the conversations and just say “maybe it’ll change, maybe it won’t, but is what it is, as of right now that’s what we like, we’ll all find out when he’s born what the name is” and no one knows how to respond to that lol
It ain’t their baby who cares what they think. Family always try to do that then they switch up and be like oh how “beautiful/handsome” Yall child who cares what they think. Do what’s best for Yall.
