@Naomi thank you Naomi, in this case the costs will continue until they go to school at the age 4-5 ? Thank you
It massively depends on what sort of nursery you send them to. Private nursery are these sorts of costs, but pre-schools are cheaper but the hours are 9-3pm.
I went back FT last week, 11 month old goes 5 days a week 8.30-3pm and approx £350 a month with the 15 funded government hours. That’s based on the north east and a nursery attached to a school. My 3 year old goes to preschool 8.40-3.10 and we pay nothing x
@Kel that sounds very reasonable, how come? Most people report costs of over 1500£ a month xx
Depends on location but ours is £126 a day so 2 full days was £1050 a month, full time would have been over £2k. After funding it dropped to £500 for 2 days.
It because they go to private nursery’s. The reason lots of people do that is because the hours of care are longer - at mine it’s 07.30 - 6pm. (I can only talk about ones that are close to me in Oxfordshire) the pre-schools attached to our nearest primary schools don’t except children until they are 3 and the hours are 9-3pm (and they won’t have them that young in after school clubs). That’s the reason we have to go with the more expensive private nursery.
I’m not sure, we are in the north east (Northumberland) so probably a lot to do with it. The nursery my 11 month goes to is a nursery attached to a school but it’s still private/independent. They also offer unsociable offers from 7am and pick up 6pm albeit it will be cheaper for us as we are picking up at 3 as that when my fiancé finishes so not an entire full day. X
I work part time 30 hours a week, but pay full time nursery hours which equate to £1600 without any free hours but with the tax free childcare. Now we have the 30 hours I pay about £740 a month. He’s been in nursery since I was back at work at 18 months old. When he starts school in September he will have to go to breakfast and after school clubs, which will probably be about £250 a month. I live in SE London for ref.
Hello. My son is now 3 and I went back to work full time when he was 13 months old. He does 5 days in nursery. We pay now - including the 30 gov free funded hours - £1200 per month. It was £1400 when we had 15 free hours and £1600 when we paying the whole thing.
