How many middle names is the absolute max!

When naming a baby after people in your life who are important how many names would be more than enough?

My girl has 2 middle names and I’ll admit, it’s a pain in the arse doing forms 😂

Both mine have two middle names. My son is after both grandfathers (my oh shares my dad’s name). My daughter has my great grandmothers first two names of which Ann is a family name from my oh side. If we had a third I think I’d just use one.

I only gave 1 middle name cos our LO has a double barrelled surname but if it’s just 1 surname then 2 middle names are nice

My son has two middle names x

Our LG has 2 middle names (her 3 names are after her 3 great grandmothers) and the boy name we have picked out has 2 middles too (partner's grandad, partner's friend, my uncle). My partner has 2 and I have none, though I used to have 1. I know someone with 4 and they have to pick 2 to go on i.d and cards etc. I think 2 is a nice balance, especially if it's to honor family etc, but 3 wouldn't be too bad either. If we had another girl they'll probably only have 1 because we've run out of names 😀

One. My husband has 3 and hates it as he can’t fit them all on forms.

My toddler has two middle names and a hyphenated last name lol

I have two middle names, my son has one but last name is double barrelled

One is max for me

One is more than enough for this momma 🫶🏻 I almost didn’t use one at all but ironically my daughter loves her middle more than her first lol (her middle name is my first name)

I would say max 2 middle names. I have two and now I’m married my surname is double barrel so I have 5 names lol

My daughter has 2. One is her auntie’s name because she took care of us while I was pregnant and the other is actually my ex wife’s name but she is also her god mother and was my birthing partner 😂

I would only pick 1: 1) because when you have so many names it’s probably a hassle when dealing with legal/ official documents. 2) let’s be real, how often are you calling someone by their middle name? For me, never. I don’t refer to my friends or family by their middle name. I only use my kids and husband full government name when they’re in deep shit with me. 😂

Both my children have 2, both myself and my husband also have 2. All of our middle names are after important relatives. It mattered a lot to me to use the names we have, and day to day it makes no difference to anything- sure, more names for forms but I’m not filling out hundreds of those, so it’s not a big deal to me. Sure, you could say if I don’t use them/call them it then what’s the point, but for us, it mattered that we honoured some special people in our lives, and our boys will know who they were etc.

I honestly think 1 is enough

My first has two middle names but they never get used. My second has one but his first name is double barrelled

My oldest has 1 (our family middle name that's passed down through the girls) the other two children have 2 each however we don't use them often and when we do it usually just the first one. X

I have 3 which is a mouthful 😅 but my children have 1 each

My son has 2 middle names but not bc we named him after anyone. I haven’t had any issues with it

Me, my partner, daughter have 2 middle names lol my son will be the same

I am one of those people who has 2 middle names but only go by 1 😭

My daughter has two middle names but honestly it’s a bit of a mouthful anyway. It’s only because I wanted my sister’s name and my partner wanted his sister’s name as a middle name as well and I felt bad so we went with both. But his sister’s name has 3 syllables, my sister’s name has 2 and my daughter’s actual name has 2 syllables with her surname having 3 so it’s a lot 🤣

we gave 2 middle names but saying the full name is annoying lol

We gave both ours 1 middle name, considered 2 for our daughter. My nephew and nieces both have 2. My friend just gave her son 8! I'm still not sure if she's having me on but that is excessive

1 is the max for me. FN, MN, LN.

One middle name each from both sides of the family

For me it’s not about what looks nice , what sounds nice / what fits on forums it’s about the meaning / heritage and legacy the names carry especially if the names are after particular people who mean something

My sister has 5 middle names I don’t think it really matters as long as u like the names use as many as u want x

My baby has two after his two great grandpas 💗

One 😅

I had to when I got married I changed it from two to one

One 😄

I have 2 middle names. My kids have 1 middle name each after their grandad's for the boys and great nan for my little girl

I have two middle names. It’s too much. Like why is my name so f****** long. 😂

My little boy has two Thomas John

My first had 2 middle names, our chosen first and middle name for her and then a family name incase we never had a boy to carry it on. Got pregnant with my second they turned out to be a boy and now I just feel sorry for my daughter having to use her grandfathers name on her future paperwork 😅😂
