Cradle cap getting out of hand

My little one’s cradle cap is so crusty and sore. I’m struggling to get on top of it and sometimes it can look painful. I can tell my little one is getting itchy from it, I’ve constantly got the baby in scratch mitts and file their nails, they are their own worse enemy because if I turn my back for a second they start going at it and then the damage is done. I can’t then use products or combs on it and the cycle continues. I’ve no idea what to do. Anyone been in a similar situation and finally broke the build up and itchy problem?

I haven’t experienced it with my baby but my six month old sister had it pretty bad a few months ago and my mom’s been using the Welda baby shampoo and body wash on her hair and it started going away with it

Ive just been using vasoline or paw paw ointment - massaging in and leaving it. I haven’t even been trying to scrape it off because just moisturising it like that seems to keep him comfortable and it’s come off by itself after in a bath or with a soft brush

We had the similar situation I would let baby oil soak in her head for 15 mins then I would take Frida baby it’s blue silicone and I’d scrub her head with it and it takes time but improved she has nothing left

if you’re breastfeeding i would use the breastmilk to wash in babies hair and use coconut oil after .. i did this & my babies cradle cap went away pretty quick

Speak to your gp because they can prescribe a shampoo to clear it up I believe

Thanks everyone, it honestly can make or brake how our days goes because of the baby’s uncomfortable then she’s so sad all day long. Thanks for the advice x

We used baby oil and massaged in with soft brush and washed out with dentinox shampoo and that seemed to work really well
