Pregnant after losses

Hi ladies, after some reassurance if possible. We had a missed miscarriage in May 2024 at 8 weeks (found out baby stopped growing about 6 weeks but had no pain/bleeding), and then an ectopic pregnancy in July 2024 which thankfully resolved itself. We’re now pregnant again at 5 weeks and I’m sure this one is in the right place due to how I’m feeling and test line progression being strong. I’m just naturally terrified - mostly because of the missed miscarriage. We found out a week ago and it’s been the longest week of my life so far waiting to know if everything will be ok 😂 we have an early scan on Wednesday. Have any of you had a successful pregnancy after a loss? Particularly a missed miscarriage? The not knowing is driving me mad. Positive stories only for now please 🙈 thank you x

I had a mc at 12 weeks, then had a successful pregnancy, then fell pregnant with twins and mc 1 of them, then had a successful pregnancy 7 years latter. Got pregnant last year mc again ( possible due to my age) now 4 weeks pregnant at 43 I'm scared. But had healthy pregnancies after a mc.

@Libby thanks libby, that’s really helpful. Wishing you all the best with your pregnancy

I got pregnant again my first cycle after my missed miscarriage. I had spotting at 5 weeks 6 days, exactly how far along I was with my missed miscarriage, you can imagine how that scared the crap out of us! But she's almost 3 now & the light of our lives. 🙏🤞🍀 hope things work out for you this time, i know how scary it is ❤️

@Susan ah that’s a lovely story ❤️ very happy for you and thank you Susan for sharing x

I also had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks in October 2023 (it stopped growing around 7 weeks). It was a really hard time for me, however I fell pregnant again March 2024 and am now sitting here with my 6 week old son after a successful second pregnancy ❤️ I know how anxious all the waiting can be - am really wishing you all the best. We had a lot of private scans in the early days as I needed a lot of reassurance. Know that it can work out, and you can get through this!

@Catherine thank you so much for sharing this Catherine 🥰 congratulations on the birth of your son! I will try to keep positive, but agreed with the multiple scans required for reassurance 😂 thank you so much x

I had 3 miscarriages (2 missed) and now 30 weeks pregnant! The only way I stopped worrying was private scans. I know they can be a lot of money but so worth it! I had 1x NHS early (around 6 weeks) then 2 private before the 12 week mark. The worrying will ease (a little 🤭) by the 12 week mark. I wish you all the best and really hope the time flies for you

@Lucy gosh 2 missed miscarriages is so cruel, I’m so sorry. How lovely that you are now 30 weeks 🥰 congratulations and thank you so much. Did you ever take progesterone? I know my doctor was considering it for my next pregnancy so will ask them when I see them this week x

I have a missed miscarriage at around 9 weeks baby stopped growing at around 5 weeks I then got pregnant a month later with my beautiful daughter who is now 2 and a half, I had another miscarriage this exact time last yeah and then third miscarriage a few months later, I’m now pregnant again 4 weeks 2 days and am terrified ! But have to stay positive and know it will all work out 🫶 sending all my love x

Yes! I think that it was made this one stick 10000% recommend. Push the doctor as sometime reluctant. 2 pessaries a day until 16 weeks x

i miscarried 03/23 and i stopped trying to give myself a break mentally and literal got pregnant again 09/23 and now i have my beautiful daughter who is 7 months

Also hoping for some positive stories! I had my first daughter in sept 2022, then lost second baby at 21 weeks in October and now pregnant with #3 but very early days. Have a viability scan lined up next week (I think I ovulated late and am about 5/6 weeks) 🙏🏼✨

@Desrae thank you for this and best of luck with your pregnancy! X

@Lucy thanks Lucy, I’ll ask the doctor at my appt tomorrow. May I ask how far along you were in your pregnancy when you started taking them? I’m 5 weeks today, hoping it’s not too late! X

@Yuahlli congratulations on your daughter 🥰

@Elizabeth so sorry for your loss and best of luck with your pregnancy x

I hope the appointment went well! I started them around 5/6 weeks x

I had a mmc in July 2024 in my first pregnancy. Found out at 12w that I had a loss in the 9th week. It was not something I was even aware of, so it was traumatizing. Underwent D&C, recovered n tried after the first period n conceived. Today I'm 21w, hoping to make it. My way of coping was to expect less this time. Every milestone is one of the many hurdles crossed and not a huge celebration of achievement. Keeping my expectations in check until I have that baby in my hand. You got this. The only way to get out of this is not to think too much about it. I know the 12w wait is daunting. You'll get through it. Also buy yourself a doppler once you cross 12. It's kept us sane on anxious days.

@Lucy thank you! Had a scan at 5 weeks and the scan and yolk sac etc looked strong and she prescribed me progesterone so have been taking them since! Fingers crossed for the next one at 7 weeks 🤞🏼 x

@Neeta thank you for your message and huge congrats on your pregnancy 🥰
