Help...

I have a LG who's 10m and I've just found out I'm pregnant again. I'm not unhappy at all, we did think about having another one but perhaps from the end of this year. I'm just a bit overwhelmed/scared/excited/surprised - all of the above that it's happening now 😅 Can anyone give me some recommendations on what we'll need for 2 under 2? I need to try get a list together to feel a bit more in control. All help appreciated 🫶

I've used most of my stuff from my 1st for my 2nd. I've just added baby stuff to the diaper bag with my toddlers stuff and got out gear from when he was a baby for my daughter. Only things I've had to get were another crib and I bought a double stroller compatible with my infant car seat but that has 2 seats for when she grows out of the infant seat as well

I found out 10 months PP! Main things I bought was a double pram, infant carrier and then made sure I had enough clothes from my first (I kept everything) and the essentials like next to me cot, moses basket. I would say to have somewhere to put baby when they’re awake like a bouncer or swing that they’re clipped in just for safety away from toddler 😅😂 if you have kept a lot from your first you won’t need to spend so much! Congratulations ❤️ you’ll do amazing

As above but we also bought a bigger car, as my husband is 6'2" and we couldn't fit a rear-facing baby seat behind him.

I have a bunch of tips for 2u2! It’s quite lengthy but happy to share. I had my second when my first was 14m

I was 9months pp from my first when I fell pregnant with my second. We used alot of stuff from our first for my second. We eventually brought a double pushchair. We also invested in a new car as my partner has a Mazda and I had a smart for four. So needed the space. My first was already in a different carseat in both cars so we were able to use the carry carseat for newborn

Thank you so much everyone! I still have the bigger things such as next to me, moses basket etc so il be able to reuse all that plus I have a lot of clothes to go through. How are you all finding a double buggy - il need to look into it but is it difficult getting around shops, fitting in car boot etc? Any recommendations? @Sharnee that would be great if you don't mind sharing it 😊 x

I have a side by side double pram and it can be a bit of a pain with getting through doors but if I’m on my own, I just go backwards through the door and push the door open with my butt 😅😂 the carrycot makes it more difficult to get into a car once they’re both in seats it isn’t as bad

I got a tandem style the top one I took seat off and got an infant carrier adapter so I can use this way til my younger baby is old enough for the seat it comes with. Being tandem it fits aisles and doors easy and gives lot of variations for how to set up their seats. Both forward, both rear, facing each other, facing opposite. A little heavy and not quite as compact folded as I have seen other styles, but I'll take the function over the compact size at this point. Eventually I suspect my older will want to walk instead of sit so I will just revert to using my single stroller then. My double is called contours options elite

Thanks so much - il start having a wee look online xx

- I had just managed to get my 1st in a routine & sleeping through the night and this helped so much - Showing/reiterating to 1st gentle with stuffed toys/dolls etc. - Safe play space (sectioned part of room off with a baby gate, there was a mellow mat and we had toy/book rotation everyday to avoid boredom). I’d feed baby in the play space with my 1st and while he was independent and liked playing on his own he’d often come over and pat babies head or show him toys, try talk to him so they could get used to each other and nobody felt left out. - I’d Spend time 1 on 1 with 1st and with both. And tried to get 1st involved around baby as much as possible. - baby backpack gift - a gift from new baby to 1st basically you fill a backpack with some activities, toys, things your 1st likes, maybe some little snacks, I included a little note from baby and a brothers photo album.

Cont.. The general idea is so that your 1st doesn’t feel left out/overwhelmed/jealous with all the new things happening and attention that babies need/get. And it helps keep them occupied when you need to attend baby. - I also bulk prepped meals, easy reheat meals & snacks or things like slow cooker dump meals/lasagna/etc. I did this to cover at least the first two weeks. - meal prepping in general - created a month or so of meals to make after those 2wks so I didn’t have to deal with a newborn, my toddler and all the overwhelm and fog that comes with it - just took some extra pressure off instead of thinking on the day like wtf am I going to cook today? How am I going to find time etc.

- utilised supermarket delivery services - after the meal plan, I used supermarket delivery services, set up a weekly shopping list for the meals I was going to be making (I created a different list for each of the weeks I prepped for so when it came time it was a matter of finding the shopping list on the app and checking out) - Rely on whatever supports you need: nursery, family, friends, go to play groups or library rhyme time, go for walks when you feel up for it. And lastly: - make sure you look after you, have easy hand held snacks esp if breastfeeding - I used to have granola/muesli bars or something similar and lots of water every where and anywhere I was going to be breastfeeding. Get rest when you can, and if you can give yourself 30-60mins a day to do something for yourself (whether it’s a shower or bath, reading a book, listening to a podcast whatever it is that you like!). I found it just helped to keep me a little sane. And you can’t help your babies if you’re on empty

I have an uppababy vista v2 (slightly more expensive) but I brought it for my 1st in April 22 and it’s still going strong, folds and stores pretty compactly - fits in most boot spaces, pretty decent underneath storage, handles well even with 25+kg and since I’m expecting baby number 3 I can actually fit all three of them on it - comes with a bassinet and toddler seat but you can also get other multiple attachments - boards/rumble seat/etc

Thanks for that @Sharnee xx
