I think it depends on age but you need minimum 10 qualifying years for state pension but 35 years for the full state pension. Anything less than 35 years is a fraction of the amount. So 10 years is 10/35 multiplied by whatever the weekly state pension is. People now say it may not even exist in 20 years or will be means tested.
@Lisa i was going to say.... Not sure there will even be a state pension by the time our generation retires!
Not 100% sure why I am paying into it, we will never get to retire or they'll keep raising the age so we never get to that point
Who knows by the time my generation get there. There might not even be a retirement age. If you retired today with the qualifying years national insurance it’s about £800pcm.
