Any horsey moms?

Any horsey ladies out there? I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and I have two horses, I’ve had help caring for them throughout the pregnancy and I cannot wait to get back up the yard doing my jobs and riding again when ready too. The question is, is there anyone that has? Is it possible to bring a baby into the equestrian life and get jobs done? I have a great support with my mum & my husband who are both hands on, but would love to know your experiences as it’s driving me mad being boxed up in the house I just really want to know it’s possible to get back to it.

You could probably baby wear whilst doing yard duties if the horses weren't there, it my be a bit dangerous to have a baby actually around them. I'm not sure though x

So my mum started me and my sister riding our grandmas donkeys when we were about 6 months old in a basket saddle. But I have pictures of me younger than that in a pram on the yard, I think 3 months old. Genuinely just go when you feel ready, even if you just pop down for 5 minutes with baby for a walk. If you rent rather than own the field/stable just check the owners don’t mind, some horses are terrified of prams and you’ll cause chaos 🤣 my mum also had a pram with big wheels for the yard and fields, you won’t want to carry baby while your doing chores, you’ll get too tired

@Daisy Good point, if baby will sleep in the pram then even better, they will probably like the fresh air and sleep quite well

I have a little 8 month old foal So riding obviously doesn’t come into it. But yard duties my little boy who is now 2 is up with me everyday. Turn out is done with him in a buggy and then he comes out to help me with all yard jobs ! The baby will be up with me from around 3 weeks I’ll probably have 3/4 weeks off and then double buggy or sling carrier for him.
