Confused!

Hi lovely ladies, Im a bit confused. The first day of my last period was 6th of december, which makes me 6 weeks and 2 days. I went to get a early pregnancy scan, and they told me im just over 4 weeks hence why they cant see anything other than the sac and yolk forming. They said everything seems fine and that i should come back in 2 weeks but im worried now because the dates are not adding up! Do you guys think this is normal? Shall i be worried, im a first time mama so im kind of overthinking.

They’ve confirmed a pregnancy is there, it’s where it should be and has started to develop so that can only be a good thing right now! As for your dates etc.. You probably just ovulated later than you thought? At this stage, it’s also too early for the sonographer to 100% confirm exactly how far along you are (The days can be + or - a few). Fingers crossed for you that you get the answers you want and there’s more to see at your next scan xx

I think you’ve worked it out a bit ahead anyway somehow because mine was the 7th and all my apps say I’m 5 weeks and 6 days today. So how can you be the 6th and be 6 weeks and 2 days? But again as said above it’s so early it’s not 100% accurate right now. My previous pregnancy my due date shifted a couple days at my 12 week scan. And as the above comment says you may of just ovulated later than you thought

I input the info into a app and it just generated it itself, i guess youre right ive definitely calculated it wrong :) And yes, the sonographer said that i probably ovulated later than i thought hence the mix up. Ill give it two weeks and hopefully see my baby on the scan. Thank you!

I think it can depend on our cycle length(?)

Try not to worry until the next scan. It’s a very rough measurement and can’t be properly dated until 12 weeks. When you go back in 2 weeks they can confirm baby is growing and has a heart beat around 6-7 weeks x
