Glucose test

Well I failed by four points but I’m pretty sure it’s because I accidentally carb loaded. So on Tuesday I had a really bad migraine so I went to bed without eating Wednesday when I got home from my chiropractor I was starving so I made spaghetti. Well I ate so much spaghetti it probably could have fed four people 😭 I was starving from not eating the night before. Well an hour after that I was like oh yeah I have my appt tomorrow not realizing I just set myself up for failure. So now I’m probably going to have to do the two hour at least I hope it’s the two and not the three. What should I eat for dinner for the night before that won’t give me high results again! thanks for the help 🫶🏼

Just look up "low glycemic foods". The only one I remember is blueberries because my test was in the morning last time.

@Audrey thanks I’m hoping for another morning one it’s easier to fast that way

Could have also been the sugar in the tomato sauce, depending on what type of sauce you use. But I’m so sorry! That’s so frustrating 😭 This is what I eat (with rice, no tortillas) and then I go in the morning for my test while fasting. (I did one at 16, and one at 27) https://pin.it/4NdzVI51c

Just eat a normal meal and don’t eat anything the next morning before your test. Also make sure to book a morning test so you can eat right after. Also if you fail your next test, it’s not the end of the world. My friend failed hers by 3 points the first time and 2 points the next time. She just had to eat a controlled diet and check her sugars after eating. Good luck mama!

@Courtney that looks so good! But they did it really early for you I was supposed to get it done at 25 weeks but the winter storm made the phlebotomist call out so I had to wait till this last week. I passed my last pregnancy and I check my glucose on a regular basis anyways from like 15 weeks and it’s been way below the accepted range but I would carb load after my OB told me not to 😭 I’m almost positive I’ll pass the next one as long as I don’t do that again 😅

@Bryar its one of our favorite meals.. but, I know! And I always forget to ask why he did it so early, but I love my OB so I always just trusted. I’ve passed both times… you should be good!! Sending positive thoughts your way. Good luck!!!

@Courtney thank you 🫶🏼

Carbs equal to 40g with 2oz of protein. Take the test in the morning and if you need to eat before only eat eggs and it needs to be at least 30min before the test. Water intake is key. First pregnancy I failed the 1hr and the 3hr so I then had gestational diabetes. Second pregnancy I barely failed the 1hr then passed the 3hr and didn’t have gestational diabetes. I’m heathy, active, I’m not over weight, I eat clean. It has to do with how the placenta formed so don’t be so hard on yourself if you fail. You got this!

@Emily if I do the two or three hour I have to be fasting so can’t eat anything but definitely won’t load up on pasta the night before I did tell my OB so maybe she’ll just let me redo the one hour 🤞🏼
