I’ve been tested twice already and they tested again today. Yes my levels are low right now but my obstetrician is pretty certain higher levels will start showing soon, so he wants to keep testing every 1-2 weeks. Amazing your friend with it managed to go to term. That’s great to hear. Maybe with monitoring I’ll be ok afterall. I think I was just a bit shocked by what I read, plus very sleep deprived from the constant itching!
Yeah I think as it can be very serious when the levels are super high, everything online will talk about the seriousness of it so people don’t ignore the signs. Sounds like 1-2 weekly checks ups will be good to keep it monitored.
I had it in my previous pregnancy. They monitored me closely and as soon as they thought there would be any risk to baby they induced me. Both of us were absolutely fine x
I don’t have it myself but my mum had it with me and my sister, we were born at 35 weeks both weighing 5lb 10oz and got to go home a few days later it didn’t cause any issues 🤞🏻☺️
Hi Patricia, I’ve had cholestasis in my last 2 pregnancies and no shock I have it again this time. The guidance has changed over the years and only Bile Acids over 100 are now classed as severe however every hospital is different. They will also take into consideration how you are coping with the itching and also your liver function. They may send you for a liver scan. Don’t worry, if they are monitoring you they are taking it seriously which is good. I was induced in both my previous pregnancies at 37 weeks due to cholestasis and had 2 beautiful healthy girls weighing 7lb and 7lb 5oz. My inductions were both positive. X
I had cholostasis with my 1st baby and was induced at 37 weeks due to cholostasis and my bile acids elevating and putting me to higher risk. My baby was born perfectly healthy and is still well and she's 3 now. I'm currently 29 +3 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby, and I now have cholostasis again. Soon as midwifes give that official diagnosis, you will be monitored very closely and potentially br asked to attend for weekly bloods so they can monitor your bike acids levels and LFT's x
My friend recently had it. It can be dangerous but not always, there are levels to it. If they think you have it, you need to get tests done and see how high your levels are. If they are low they will just keep testing regularly to check it’s not going up, and otherwise it’s all fine. If the levels get too high is likely they will want the baby to be born sooner (but they will only do that when it’s safe to do so). She managed to go full term with twins having it, so it can be fine if monitored 😊
