Centrelink work test

Hey ladies, Centrelink have recently changed the maternity leave and have to meet the work test. I have would have been with my current employer for 10 months when it’s my due date. I plan on working up until my due date. I currently work 20 hours a week casually. Sometimes more hours but never under 20 hours. I will definitely meet the 330 hours. My question is because I haven’t been employed by my current employer for 12 months will I still get Centrelink maternity pay?? Do Centrelink pay me directly instead of going through the employer? Thank you in advance 🤍🤍 I am stressing because this pregnancy happened a lot quicker than expected!

If you were working prior to your current role, that contributes to the 12 months! All the best X

@Nicole thanks so much Nicole 🥰 I’ve also been self employed for 1.5 years consistent but limited hours per week

Most welcome! If you have an accountant, they can prepare a letter for you that states you’ve met the Centrelink working requirements to submit as part of your application - I’m in the same boat!

I'm currently on mat leave, centrelink pays my employer and they in turn pay me.
