Glucose test

Glucose test I’ve got my glucose tomorrow can you drink water before it or can you literally not have any thing I know your not allowed to eat before it I can’t remember I had it with my first but then I’ve been told nothing with this pregnancy and I can’t remember from almost 4 years go 🤣

Havent had this test, but what appointment / week do you get it? Im not looking forward to having it! With a quick google it says no food for 10-12 hours but you can have water, but then I am not sure if thats the case for everyone 🙃

Thank you your midwife will refer you if any girls in your family had it while pregnant or have it now or if you’ve had a big baby

Yes you can drink water 😊 just no food from 8pm I think it is xx

You can not eat before the test, you r letter should tell you. But pretty sure drinking is ok.

I recommend plenty of water as well so you’re hydrated, easier for blood tests then x

I had it done a couple of times now and my letter said to not drink water on the morning of the test (my tests were at 8am). I think the point is that the more water you've had, the more it could potentially affect the test result/give a false negative xx
