Reusable nappies

Any recommendations that you plan to use or have used? Have looked into bambino mio brand which seem really good and from newborn but they are very pricey!

I'm in the US but I got some random second hand ones with different brands and honestly like them all. They're not thaaat different in my opinion, the inserts is kind of what makes or breaks it (natural fibres instead of microfiber). It's fun ☺️

I’m hoping to use cloth at least part time and managed to get some modern cloth nappies in newborn size on Vinted

I would suggest finding your local cloth nappy library who will have bundles to hire, where you can try out different brands to see what suits your baby and your routine best. Eg do you prefer velcro or poppers, do you want an all-in-one or prefer to stuff your own with separate layers. There's no point spending loads of money on a system that doesn't work for you! Have a look here for a guide on the different types: https://www.thenappylady.co.uk/news/a-beginners-guide-to-using-reusable-nappies.html

I did the survey on the NappyLady website. It has loads of indepth questions to recommend nappies that will hopefully work best. I have ordered one of their newborn rental kits in one of the recommended types. Hoping they'll work for us but if not we're only renting so can try different ones without investing lots of money into buying them!

We use Bambino Mio for day time nappies, they're good and dry really quickly after they're washed but they're not the most absorbent. We use boosters in all the nappies and the bamboo boosters are more absorbent than the regular microfibre. I wouldn't recommend them for overnight, you want a 2 part system rather than a pocket nappy. My son is 2 now but we bought a big set when I was pregnant with him, it's quite an investment but definitely worth it in my opinion, it can take a while to get it to work though. I've bought quite a few off vinted that are new with tags

@Sarah please can I ask which type you have, revolutionary or miosolo classic? Revolutionary ones I’ve read are from newborn to potty training which would be ideal to invest and use same throughout, they have 2 parts and different flow boosters to insert in the pocket to add to it. Can’t seem to find new on vinted for these but I’ve managed to get 4 misolo still in packet on vinted but says they only from 3month + is that right or were they okay to use during newborn from your experience?x

We have the Mio solo ones, the revolutionary ones (with the double leg elastics) only recently came out. When I bought mine they said that they were from newborn but the reviews I looked at said that realistically it was from 10lb and up. I think they were too big for my son initially (he was 9lb 11 at birth) but it could have been we didn't have the fit right. With this baby I plan to use disposable initially and then swap back to cloth as soon as we can. I've used them from 2/3 months and my son's almost 2 so saves a lot of money and waste. We use cloth wipes as well ☺️ x

@Incognito I’m selling a set of Bambino Mio solo nappies with liners and the bucket if you’re interested? We used them a handful of times but never properly swapped over from disposable. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1535381007160559/
