Absolutely not, it doesn't stop them getting chickenpox even a bad case of chickenpox

Already done! 🙌🏻 would 100% recommend. Had my 2020 baby vaccinated too and no regrets. The peace of mind is worth the cost

No because she’s already had chickenpox 😅 but I was considering it before she got it. It’s looking likely to be added to the nhs schedule in the next year or so anyway.

@Heather I don’t think it’s meant to stop them from getting it but ease the symptoms like other vaccines. So did the child have the vaccine then have a really bad case ? I heard an awful story the other day of a baby getting sepsis and nearly dying after getting chickenpox 🫣

@Alexandra it doesn't even do that, I've known a few still be hospitalised despite having the vaccine, and it's why the NHS won't pay for it as the benefits are questionable My 12 Yr old hasn't had it. Hasn't shown any outward sign of cp yet is immune to it

We used to go to pox.parties when I was a kid to get it over and done with, it's 100% not worth putting the ingredients and risking side effects https://www.justtheinserts.com/chickenpox/

Both our kids have had them. They each had two jabs about a month apart. It was around £150 for the two doses. It has been recommended by the joint committee on vaccines and immunisation so hopefully the NHS will offer it soon but we didn’t want to wait. They had no issues with the vaccine and did not catch chickenpox when it went round nursery.

The chicken pox vaccine will become part of the standard vaccines, they just don’t have a date yet.
