Stringy stool

Pic in comments. My LO had “stringy” stool this morning. I asked ChatGPT and of course got five different answers. lol. I’m thinking it’s just undigested milk, or a milk protein allergy, but I’ve already cut out dairy two days ago. If anyone else has dealt with a cmpa, is this just her body clearing the remainder of the protein? Also no clue if she does have cmpa, just trying different things to see if her gassiness and fussiness improve. Edit to add: she is seven weeks old.

I’d say that looks like a teething poop

@Kirsty she is only seven weeks!!!

Hmmmmmm, maybe not then! I’m unsure I know I’ve mentioned to the doctors before and they’ve said mucous poop is normal and means it’s passed through the digestive tract quickly with a lot of saliva

@Kirsty yeah, I’m not overly concerned about it., just one of those things. First time in seeing it. And it just occurred to me to look up if it could be from a clogged duct, I had one on Saturday that I cleared in the day. But this seems delayed for it to be part of that, unless she cleared the last little bit recently that I didn’t feel as hardness in my boob. I’m definitely taking mental note tho that this can happen when she starts teething, I had no idea!!

My baby is 4 months and his poop has looked like this for the past month. Are you EBF? Does she take any vitamins? Also I’ve heard from nurses and doctors that teething can happen any time. Some babies are even born with teeth. If she is teething, I hear it usually lasts a couple weeks for each tooth.

@Fatima yes ebf, no formula. No vitamins, but we give her gas drops.

This is mucus! Very normal if baby has a cold/stuffy nose - doesn’t always come out their nose, sometimes comes out their bum

@Jaya that makes sense now. She wasn’t showing any sick symptoms but last night she was congested. Thanks everyone! Wasn’t overly concerned, just something different than the norm so figured getting input wouldn’t hurt!
