@Nicole I recommend milk thickener (Carobel)for reflux. My oldest suffered from awful reflux (to the point I used to double bib him if we went out), and Gavison made him really poorly. Carobel, however, was amazing. X
My son struggles to keep milk down. Is sick during feeding and straight after feeding. We keep him upright after feeding but sometimes he is sick an hour after feeding. I feel like I'm forever cleaning up sick and going through so many muslins. My daughter had reflux too but a lot worse as she struggled with gaining weight. GP has prescribed gaviscon which my daughter had too. People are saying it causes constipation but I haven't noticed this. My GP also recommended using colief to relieve wind and this is working
@Lauren thanks for the recommendation, I've read a few good reviews online about Carobel.
Another recommendation for carobel, GP prescribed gaviscon and it really didn’t help. My little one hasn’t been sick since starting on carobel instead.
I knew my boy had reflux as he showed the following signs: bringing up milk / being sick during or shortly after feeding coughing or hiccupping when feeding being unsettled during feeding swallowing or gulping after burping or feeding crying and not settling What helped: Pace feeding burping after every few ounces Keeping him upright after a feed whether holding, in a baby carrier or bouncer / swing for at least 30 mins Infant Gaviscon prescribed by GP however it does cause constipation so rarely use it
