Maternity leave

For those of you that don’t have holidays days etc to use up for maternity leave. How many weeks did/will you work up until? I’m 36 weeks and am starting to feel really fed up, I have initially put next Friday as my final date but am feeling very exhausted.

I went at 35 weeks due to sciatica and pelvic girdle pain and I know if I continued I would of been putting myself in way too much pain as my job requires a lot of being on my feet and originally wanted to work til 37 weeks but as I hit 30 I knew that wouldn’t be possible anymore 🥲 is there any way you are able to rest more at work to get you to next Friday if not I’d suggest talking to your work about your options as some jobs won’t let you go on leave unless you give enough notice, not sure if sick pay is an option for you as it wasn’t for me, this isn’t loads of help as every job has a slight different policy on mat leave but I hope it helps slightly :) take care of yourself especially being in the home stretch, pregnancy is so difficult let alone feeling exhausted at work x

I'm finishing next Friday too when I'll be 37+4. I'm already exhausted and desperate to finish already but I want to keep as much of my leave for when baby arrives. I work from home so it's not too bad but my mind is just not in work anymore at all

I’m working til next Friday too and I’m 100% ready to finish now. We haven’t got long!!! Xxx

I am working till the due date but have a week and a half off in between now and last day .. currently 36+2. I work from office 2ce a week but will be having 121 with my manager on Monday and want to request to work from home more or at least do half a days in the office only. I am definitely tired and need to get up for a walk every hour or so.

I worked until nearly 38 weeks this time - it was hard but could work from home from the new year x

I’m working until 38+4 then being induced at 39 weeks but have worked from home since around 35 weeks - if I had to go into the office it would have definitely been earlier xx

I'm have a week's annual leave so finish at 36+3 but without this I would have finished at 37+3. I'm glad for my weeks annual leave as I am ready to finish now.

I’m 37+1 and finishing this Thursday (37+4) and let me tell you, working this far into my pregnancy + tackling my 22 month old as well I wish I started my leave a week or two earlier 🫠 I’ll be livid if I have this baby before I get to put my feet up whilst my toddler is at nursery next week 😂

I've been off since before Christmas on annual leave and then I'm now on sick with carpal tunnel, pelvic girdle pain, sciatica and swollen feet. I'm 35 weeks and plan to start maternity leave on week 37. Work was hard, but honestly being off has been hard mentally. I missed my chance to wind up things at work and say goodbye to everyone. It's like I went from 100mph to 0. Hope you are ok and enjoy your leave when it gets here.

I’m working to next Thursday and had to call in sick Monday as I couldn’t get any shoes on. I work in retail so my shifts aren’t Monday-Friday, after physio this morning I’ll be going into a 4 day run which will kill me off by Sunday (have pgp, carpal tunnel and now swollen feet & ankles) then next week I believe I only have 3 shifts in with a day off between (I need to double check but I’m sure I’m entitled to days off before my leave commences Friday) and honestly I am so ready to finish, if I didn’t want to make the most of seeing my team (and honestly care so much about my job) I’d be off sick all next week but I’m planning to just take it as easy and possible and power through to the finish now - I’m 36 weeks today, finishing 37+1

I’m finishing on 31st, one week of annual leave, officially starting my mat leave on the 8th, c section planned for the week of the 17th xx
