Anxious about being intimate

Me and my husband went through years of infertility and we are finally 8w6d with our IVF miracle baby. We haven’t been intimate since we started FET treatment 10 weeks ago and it’s not because we don’t want to, I’m just so anxious about something going wrong, I had a little bit of spotting at 6 weeks and I think that was due to me doing the progesterone suppository to high/ near my cervix so anxious that a foreign object is going to irritate the cervix. Any advice or is anyone else feeling anxious about being intimate?

I felt this way with my first baby, we didn’t have sex for almost 4 months! I was so adamant about not doing it because I was worried that I’d loose the baby and it would cause something to go wrong. You’re not alone my lovely, however maybe if it makes you feel more at ease why don’t you wait till 12 weeks? Either way I know the anxiety is hard to shift but unless you’ve been told by your doctor not to have sex, it’s completely safe and won’t harm your baby in any way x

I was also like this during my first pregnancy! We didn’t have sex until 12 weeks. I know as long as everything is ok during your pregnancy sex is considered safe I was just super worried! And even after 12 weeks as I did have bleeding throughout my whole pregnancy so it was really worrying! Just know that you’re not alone, it can be a really anxious time, just listen to your body 🤍

@Chelsey I have been spotting for like a week and a half now, but the doctor isn’t concerned because it’s old blood. I’m also not having any other symptoms (cramping, etc.), and baby is completely fine on ultrasound. When you were bleeding was it without cramps?

@Ashley yes my bleeding was also without cramps, it just seemed to be in my underwear / pantyliner whenever I went to the toilet. It was concerning but it really helps to know baby is all good 💗

@Chelsey That’s exactly how mine was! It actually just stopped today. That makes me feel better!

Aww I’m so glad for you! Hopefully it stays that way! You can message me anytime if you ever need to talk @Ashley
