We were planning to name our girl with my maiden name as her middle name, turns out the ultrasound got it wrong and we had a boy😅
My husband is a 3rd, so he’s been called Trey his entire life (Tres = Trey). If we were having a boy, we would’ve named him the 4th and called him Fynn
Omg I have a similar problem. We finally agreed I pick the first name and he picks the middle name.
I personally don’t like this just because everyone I know that is named after their dad hates it and they don’t like to be compared to the parent. 🤷🏻♀️
I personally cannot stand it. I know a lot of people do it, but I told my husband absolutely not lol it’s just too confusing for me in the house and also when it comes to Paperwork 🤣
We named our son after his great uncle and my grandfather. For his last name, we both went with our mother's maiden names since we have better relationships with our mothers than our fathers. My sons name is a combination of people we loved dearly.
I said no to naming anyone after anyone from either side from the beginning.
There’s an Allen the 5th in my family 😂 and a Robert Joseph the 3rd Seems like a little much to me, but to each their own
We picked our sons first name together and did his “family” middle name (*Lee* hubby, father, grandfather, great grandfather all have this as a middle name) and my family’s tradition with the letter K (all the grandkids* Kass, Kena, Kadin, Kelley* my aunt, and her husband) so our son has 2 middle names so his initials r SKLS (ironically mine r also KLS before and after marriage and hubbys is EDLS) Anywho, it keep both families happy without having to have him as a 2nd or 3rd
I also want to point out that I did make it clear as soon as we found out I was pregnant that our child boy or girl was not being named after anyone in either family but we could pass on our middle names so we compromised on doing both family traditions. We picked a gender neutral name. We discussed a girl middle name and a boy middle name. If our son was a girl it would have been Kora Lynn instead of Karter Lee (the girls in my family get the middle name of the mother and either gender gets a K name while my husband’s family gives the “Lee” middle name to the first born son)
My daughter’s middle name was my great-grandmother’s nickname. If we had had a son, I would’ve made my husband’s middle name our son’s. Different first names though. Middle names are more private in my opinion and should mean Something if it’s gonna exist.
My mom did that. She named my brother after my dad and it was confusing bc she would shout Glenn!! And they both were like yesss?? Lol
I've seen it alot. Not my favorite for my baby just because I like unique names
