Bugaboo butterfly or Joolz Aer

Hi all, I’m looking for people to comment on the good & bad of these two strollers as I really can’t decide what to get. They are both so similar which makes it hard! Please can you let me know your experiences with either. Little one is 6 months and this will be used as an additional stroller to the travel system we have and for holidays

Joolz Aer+! Lays completely flat, has a nice upright position (some of them when sat up are at a slant and my baby hated that!), nice to look at which is a bonus, super easy to fold with one hand and very light x

I have no experience using the butterfly, but absolutely love my joolz aer+

@Yasmin did you find it easy to put back from lie flat to seated when baby was in it? I’ve heard it can be awkward? X

@Charlee did you purchase any additional things like the bumper bar/ footrest etc or use as it comes?

I was in the same boat didn't know which to go for. I went and saw both in mammas and papas. I really liked the joplz are + lay flat , the fold and the feel/ quality of the buggy. Only down side is the butterfly basket is soo much biggger! I didn't like about the butterfly I've noticed they bobble and i couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a buggy for it to do that but I did like that the buggy came with the foot rest which the joolz are + doesn't. It's all preferences on what you're willing to compromise on. Both brill buggies 🙂

@Shantaye we’ve always found it fine just hold him with one hand zip with the other or now he’s older he’ll sit forward if you ask him to. Also as someone else has mentioned the bugaboo bobbles badly from my friends experiences and imo it’s a lot of money to pay for a pram with such quality issues x

@Rebecca yes it’s hard! I prefer the lie flat and fold of the joolz aer, I looked at both in mamas and papas and it confused me more! My sister has the bugaboo so tried that out for a week! Never heard of it bobbling before so that’s good to know! The joolz aer also felt less sturdy & like you said had a smaller basket. I think I prefer the joolz aer but do I want to spend another £100 on attachments for a stroller that’s not my main one? It’s a shame it doesn’t come with a footrest at least for the price!

Yes the joolz are lie flat is perfect for holidays and my baby is 10 months and ifs easy to use you just use the break and hold it as you unzip for it to go down slowly- you find your way! I definitely miss the basket space y going for an egg 2 buggy. To be honest this wasn't going to be our main buggy but it just became easier! I don't regret the joolz aer I'm happy with it! Just pros and cons. I could've been swayed to the bugaboo but I have seen many complaints on the bobbling and my cousin has it and I noticed the seat all worn and it put me off straight away- definitely something they need to sort!! If it's not going to be a main buggy for you the silver cross clic looks good and a cheaper option - looks similar to joolz aer. There are sooo many buggies it's hard and what's right for one is always for another!

I just looked the silver cross is still 200£, I thought it was cheaper in my head! I'd definitely weigh up other buggies though if you are only planning to use on holiday! The Eden zoomie looks good 😊

We got the joolz aer+ to use when travelling, and it’s amazing! It’s so easy to travel with and go into the overhead in flights. From memory it’s a bit lighter than the butterfly as well which makes a difference when carrying lots, especially through airports etc. Been using it since my little one was 4 months. Love it!

@Rebecca thank you that’s really helpful! & think I prefer the joolz or the bugaboo over any other strollers due to wanting it for flights and abroad! I think the silver cross looked bulkier in my opinion

Anyone with the joolz aer, did you buy the footrest with it? Did you need it? And does it still fold compact with it attached, or does it have to be removed ?

We never bothered with the footrest and never had any issues. LO is now 15 months x

I have the bugaboo buffalo so not the same version but speaking for the brand, it's incredibly hard wearing. I've had mine for 8 years and 3 babies and it runs smooth as ever, absolutely no issues with it, and we are really hard on it.

I have a bugaboo butterfly, dragonfly and a fox and I love them all!!!

We have the joolz aer and love it!

I have the bugaboo butterfly. I have no complaints apart from the price

@Karly have you noticed any bobbling?

@Shantaye no. Sometimes if the ground is uneven one of the wheels on the front side won’t touch the ground but I think that’s a council sort your pavements out problem not the pram itself?

Joolz aer!! Best ever

@Shantaye we have both the bumper bar and footrest, but use it as our everyday pram essentially so was worth it for us, not sure I would have got the extras if it was just for a holiday pram, so I think depends what you're planning on using it for

@Charlee I currently have the candy peach 7. And whilst I love it, it is bulky so this stroller may end up becoming the main pushchair down the line
