We had the nursery finished by 27 weeks last time and clothes washed by 37 weeks and put away I didn’t want them sat in the drawer for months and months once washed 🙂 things such as pump bottles dummies where put in place washed and sterilised the day of use so again they don’t sit for ages, this time I will pop the next to me crib up week before my elective section and do the clothes that week too as they are having a changing dresser / chest of draws in our room 🤣 we will do our toddlers big boy room at 5 months pp so he moves in there and we can make changes to the nursery for her ready for 6 months 😄
We wash baby clothes after 36 weeks to keep them fresh and ready. We don’t worry too much about furniture since all we need is to clear the top of the drawers in our bedroom to place the changing mat. When it comes to furniture, we don’t make a big deal out of it. The baby will want to be close to me, so as long as I’m comfortable, he’ll be happiest there. With our first baby, we hardly used any furniture at all. He slept on my chest for the first two months, then spent another couple of months in a Next-to-Me SnuzPod. But by four months, he had outgrown it, and since then, he’s been sleeping with us in the big bed - which we hadn’t planed but absolutely love. Our perspective on parenting shifted monumentally once baby arrived😊
I had my last son at 36 weeks and had nothing ready , we still have loads of clothes from our first son who’s 18 months old we’re going to get them out of the loft and go through them all to see what we want to use , my sister had a boy in November and we gave aload to her so I’m sure we will need to get quite a few clothes items x
We are finished buying all Baby stuff & bedroom items by 30 weeks so bedroom/nursery be set up by 30 weeks then I'll start nesting and washing everything ! And hopsital bag be backed by 30 weeks too that's my aim ! Some people don't do it till 37ish ! Some people do it really early ! It's completely up to you and when you want too xx
We’ve just started her nursery, and put all the furniture up! Just easier to store everything rather than having it dumped everywhere. May not start washing until April 🥰 I’m 21 weeks x
