Curly hair routines typically go as follows: (For Dirty Hair) 1. Shampoo (clarifying shampoo if there’s a lot of product buildup but you MUST follow up with moisturizing shampoo. If it’s not super dirty moisturizing shampoo is fine) Rinse. 2. Condition & Detangle (never detangle during the shampoo stage and start at the ends of the hair and work your way to the roots. It typically helps to detangling in sections) Rinse. 3. Dry the hair with a microfiber towel or old t-shirt but put place the towel or shirt on their head like you’re placing it on a sleeping dog and just squeeze out the water. Moving the hair all around will just create more tangles you just brushed out 4. Apply leave in and brush through (always brush from the ends and with your way to the root) 5. Curl creams/jelly/butter always depends on how well the hair stays moisturized. If it’s still dry try something thicker like a cream or a butter but check the ingredients. Alcohol drys curly hair out
If baby girl is sleeping on wet/wet-ish hair it’s going to be frizzy when she wakes up. You’ll need to blow dry her hair (a diffuser attachment will make cuter curls) and put her hair in a loose pineapple if it’s long to not have as much frizz I’m no hairstylist btw but I hope that helps
Braid your daughters hair before bed, doesn't need to be any fancy or intricate braids, just something to keep the hair together so it doesn't tangle overnight when she sleeps. It'll make it easier to detangle in the morning
What is her pillowcase made of? My little has very curly hair (when it is left alone, otherwise it goes straight), but if he sleeps on the velvety side of his pillow, he wakes up with dry, fuzzy looking hair. The cotton side is fine - wakes up with defined curls. I can only imagine satin would be even better.
I have curly hair and I never go to bed with wet hair. It's not only uncomfortable but it makes my curls really frizzy and knotty. Dry hair and a silk bonnet to preserve the curls.
When you put the cream in, section the hair into 4 or more sections (doesn’t have to be neat) and twist it. If possible have her sleep with a bonnet. Then on the next day you can untwist it and style it.
I would put the leave in at night and when u do her hair in the morning some water and curl cream will go a long way
