Consultant led

So I’m due in 2 weeks with my first child and I’m due to have a consultant led birth however nobody spoke to me about this I’ve not met with a consultant I’m high risk due to multiple chronic health conditions and my son was weighing 7pound 10 at my last growth scan, I don’t really feel supported or like there is any plan in place is it normal for me to be left like this? I only know I’m consultant led after reading my notes.

I’m also consultant lead due to having a chronic health condition prior to pregnancy. I’ve been seen by my consultant team every 6 weeks ish and had extra growth scans. Often at times has felt like non-stop appointments. I think it depends what your chronic illnesses consist of to which consultant team over see your care. For myself it’s been the hypertension team as that needed to be managed as part of my health care. Could be worth speaking with your midwife and asking which care/consultant team are overseeing you and going from there. x

Definitely bring it up to someone as I’m consultant led and I’ve seen my consultant twice so far and have another appointment in two weeks! You should have at least had some sort of appointment with them by now xx

Definitely feel this. I'm consultant led and I only have my appointment end of my 38th week which makes no sense. I don't feel supported as well as I have so many questions that have yet to be answered etc (and health concerns!!). So totally get you

@Mallika definetly I’m 38+3 weeks and I don’t even have anything else booked besides a stretch and sweep on the 3rd Feb I’m due 5th Feb x🤯

@Yasmin that’s what I was thinking I’ll ring tomorrow just feel like I’ve been fobbed off my full pregnancy x

@Becca yeah I’ve multiple things such as diabetes, pcos, lung conditions, endometriosis etc so I’m unsure why I’ve been left x

@Robyn-Faye Hope you are able to get some answers because that’s awful if you haven’t been seen and had the right appointments and care throughout. X
