@Angel ah never knew this. Every house I’ve been to has them both top and bottom. Thanks for the info x
I’ve got 2 pressure gates x
Got three of the pressure gates from Aldi at their baby event; I think Lidl was doing them too
@Elena have you got them both at the top and the bottom then? X
@Rachel same question, have you also got them at the top of the stairs? X
@Tess I live in a bungalow haha.. mines on my living room door and kitchen door! But if I did have stairs there would be one at top and bottom.. yeah if they pull on it and it falls they will fall but if there’s no stair gate they are still gonna fall 🤷🏻♀️ soooo x
@Elena yeah that’s how I feel. I’ve never seen anyone with babies not have one at the top…
@Tess I’ve not started baby proofing yet but I’ve heard the pressure ones are fine for the bottom of the stairs but a screw fix one is better for the top 😊 x
@Tess we were planning on it but lifting it slightly because they’re pressure mounted but having seen the note about babas being able to open them I might have to rethink it!
We have the baby Dan ones that fold back when opening rather than like a door. They screw in and are actually quite difficult to open so no way of a child doing it accidentally x
I’ve done a bit of research after this, and basically I’ve seen that it’s safest to put screw fix ones at the top like Steph has suggested. Didn’t see anywhere that we shouldn’t be putting any at all! X
We were told not to put one at the top of the stairs too by the HV because if they climb on it they’re falling from a greater height so we’ve put hers on her bedroom door but I’m going to move it to the upstairs corridor just a bit away from the stairs
@Angel but then if you don’t have it can’t they fly down the stairs anyway ? Or mayb I’m crazy
@Justina yeah the more I think about it the more I don’t wanna risk it. I’ll most likely end up doing screw fix ones.
Never put one at the top! If they end up pulling and pushing on it and accidentally open it then could go flying down the stairs.
