Car seat help pleaseeee!

My son is about to be 5 months and is approx 19lbs right now. He’s quickly outgrowing his Joie iSnug 2 as the head hugger isn’t removable and his head is getting squashed now. We were looking initially at the Axkid Minikid 4 but I think we want the Movekid now due to the price difference but both being Swedish Tested. Can anyone confirm whether there are any other suggestions or whether the Movekid is my best bet? I know he won’t fit into it yet but is there an approximate weight/height for him to fit please? I can’t seem to find it online if there is!

He’ll fit in it from approx 61cm. What car do you have?

I have a Ford puma 2024 plate and my partner has already been demoted to sitting in the back to allow the front seat to be pushed up anyway 😂

@Emily I think he’s about 61cm now if not more but he’s being measured again Friday so I’ll know for definite then. Thank you so much!!

Both seats are a great choice. If movekid is cheaper then definitely go for it. It's 36kg/125cm whichever comes first ☺️

@gabi amazing thank you so much!!! 🫶🏼

Oh no! The Puma is quite small for cabin space. I’ve known 5 month olds to fit in the Minikid 4 fine. BeSafe stretch is bulkier but it’s lovely for younger ones as you can still adjust the recline after install. Avionaut Sky is a similar size to the Minikid 4 but with more recline. It just isn’t as long lasting with a shorter back length, so would be ideal for 50th centile or below for height x

@Emily thank you so much for the info!! This is why I come to this group ❤️ he’s on the higher centiles for everything really yeah I’m surprised the back seat space is as short as it is considering it’s a slightly bigger car but my last one was a fiesta so it’s an upgrade anyway 😂

Weirdly Fiesta is actually pretty good for cabin space! I’d say better than the Puma! So for high centiles you definitely want to be looking at the 36kg/125cm seats so the BeSafe Stretch, Axkid Minikid 4/Movekid, Britax Max-Safe Pro/Safe-Way M. The Axkid’s are the most compact out of those. Whereabouts are you based?

Amazing thank you lovely! I think we’re gonna go for the Movekid but we’ll see. I wish we could try it first but our nearest retailer is over an hour’s drive away so not ideal 😂 we’re south west England!
