Leaving after maternity leave

I’ve been back from maternity leave for about 3 weeks (plus 5 week annual leave) and I’m completely sick of my ward. My deputy charge nurse is a huge bully and I cannot face staying here I’m just ready to leave, I thought it might have changed while I was off and if anything it’s got worse. Anyway sorry for ranting I’m wondering how much maternity pay I would have to pay back? I’m a band 5 and was on the beginning wage when my maternity was calculated. I would like to move nhs trusts completely but might take me a while to get a job as there’s a job freeze so fully expecting to pay my maternity back

Also does the AL I have already had at the end of my maternity leave count towards the 3 month return period?

You have to work 3 months to not pay anything back (unless it’s changed, I would check your policy) With your notice period you might be okay!

@Bethany do you know if my annual leave counts towards the 3 months?

I believe so as you’re working your normal employment during leave

Annual leave counts, yes

Yes it does

3 months total you have to be back at work by time you leave. It includes annual leave and sickness and your notice period so you could hand notice in and go off sick
