I guess I depends on how much he uses one now. My son was 2 when my daughter was born and used it quite a bit. We got a double knowing we would use it, but also planned on using the single for things like going to church. The first time I tried to put my daughter in the solo my son freaked out that his spot was gone. So we use the double 100% of the time now 😒 That’s fine though I don’t want to chance a toddler while pushing the stroller so it works. We have a zoo membership and will be going to Disney so I knew it was important for us to have something for them both.
Mines 2.5 and i only just get away with not having one we have a buggy board which can still be challenging as she’s always wanting to get off it. So i would recommend getting a double buggy 🙈
My son is nearly 3 and I have a 9 month old . A double was a necessity for us. As when out alone my 3 year old would just stop and refuse to walk or go on the buggy board etc. I think 18 months is still young to expect to walk everywhere . You could use a single pram for your 18 month old and baby wear your newborn as an alternative but tbh I'd go with a double buggy z
My sister got a double even though her eldest was 2.5 years…he didnt like the buggy board but even if he did, there were long days out where he would need to nap or rest a bit xx
2 year 4 month age gap and the double has been a necessity for us! We got the Graco Stadium duo off Marketplace. Toddler goes in the front so he can see everything and baby lies flat in fhe back. Toddler loves the tray, too. Hr absolutely refused to go into any pushchair when I was pregnant, absolute nightmare, but as soon as he saw baby going in, he will happily sit in front.
Depends on your child I think. An 18mo should be okay on a buggy board, and you can get ones with a seat in case they get tired, although obviously wouldn't be able to nap. You could also get a sling for baby and keep 18mo in the pram, or swap them around or whatever. Personally, I found a double really handy. I have 2½yrs between mine. Oldest is not very reliable at following instructions, staying beside me, or staying on the buggy board, so knowing that I could have him strapped into the pram to keep him safe and contained gave me peace of mind and much more confidence to take both kids out on my own
Yes i would say it's a must at that age x
If wait and see, theres lots of prams that you can make double easily too if you are going to get a new pram anyway
