We have 2 German Shepherds so had to upsize as well. I've had my peugeot 208 for 11 years so the thought of a bigger car made me nervous. We've just got a Peugeot 2008 which looks huge but I've found driving it completely fine, really comfortable and doesn't feel too different. The big change is parking spaces are tighter, I'm just aiming for end spaces at the moment 😊
I used to drive a mini convertible, and went to a Kia Sportage 🤣 felt like I was driving a bus, however it’s really easy to drive. Test drive a few and always meet him in the middle. My Kia is fab, it’s not worlds biggest suv but it fits in everything, we have a frenchie, a 2 year old and then due in May x
We have a dog too (labradoodle, but lab sized, so similar to yours) and have had a volvo xc40 which has worked well with our daughter too. You can get a divider for the boot so the dog gets one half, pram in the other - although it did mean we had quite specific pram dimension requirements! We’re expecting baby #2 in May though and not sure if it’ll still work then but we’re going to wait and see!
@Jess I agree on this! I went from a tiny 3 door car to a Kia sportage and I absolutely love it! I thought I would be terrified but it’s so easy. Don’t get me wrong I still avoid parallel parking at all costs 😂 but that’s just because I’m terrible at it
@Katherine I’d never parallel park if it meant between 2 cars even in my old mini 🤣 I do reverse park all time though cause of the camera!
I have a golden too and my baby on the way. She fits perfectly into the Peugeot 3008, the older style SUV compared to the newly released one .
I completely understand where you are coming from. Me and my partner went through the same thing last year when we was going down to 1 car I have a Seat Ibiza at the time and we have ended up with a BMW 330i. It’s a lot bigger then what I was ever use to and I’m also a nervous driver. I know not as big as a SUV type. But once I drove the new car a few times, it was like I’ve always driven that size. You forget the size once driving and it’s like I never want to go back. But it was scary at first. I test drove the car in a quiet business park at a weekend to see if I was comfortable with it before we even decided to buy a car like that.
