NHS investigative tests

Hi all - does anyone know the current waiting time on the nhs for investigative tests following recurrent miscarriages? I had an initial consultation with a private clinic and they recommended we do karyotyping, emma/alice tests and sperm dna fragmentation test. I believe the nhs does offer these tests too but wondering what the waiting time is? Currently weighing our options. Thank you all

So sorry that you’ve had recurrent losses. Your best bet would be to ring your local hospital and ask them for their wait times as it varies so much across the country, even within London. Having had the private consultation will probably speed things up a little so make sure you mention what you’ve already paid for and ask to speak to an NHS consultant to move forward with your treatment xx

Hiya the only tests nhs reoccurent clinic did for me were some bloods and a Hysterscopy. After that nothing more they offered. Speaking to private clinic they suggested Emma Alice era to me too but also said it’s optional and not recommended by them as not proven on the hfea website they are all red or amber so they can’t recommend them. Turns out they said could counter it by just giving antibiotics and probiotics for that anyway to avoid test too

I'd speak to your GP and also Tommy's I know they have help regarding recurring miscarriages. I'm so sorry for what you're going through, help is out there but sometimes you really have to fight for it x

@Emily would also second getting in touch with Tommys! My rainbow IVF baby is here because of them

Hi Greta I am going through this process message me x I had 2 recurring miscarriages and was reffered to Nhs waiting time depends on the center you choose. I waited 4 months for mine ( but I picked a good center supposedly) just had bloods but the whole process takes very long through this route I have a trusted doctor overseas. Happy to share

@Greta
