I enjoyed wasting the money 😂
Buy second hand 🤷🏼♀️
I actually think our was worth it. We live in the countryside and are always out on walks with the dogs so paid more for one that could cope with regularly being “off road”. We used the bassinet with a stand for our little ones to sleep in downstairs during the day so that got used every day, multiple times a day in the early few months. It came with the car seat which again is used pretty much everyday both in the car and attached to the pram when we’re only jumping out of the car for short trips. My daughter didn’t grow out of the car seat until she was 1 so it got loads of use. And now I’m using it all again with baby number 2 so I actually think it was worth the money given how much use it’s had and will continue to have, how well it’s faired given the miles it’s clocked up and how easy it’s made life for me for the last 2 years and will continue to fit at least another 2 years, longer if we were to ever have a third child.
I bought baby’s first pram used for $40? I spent $1200 on a gorgeous all organic ethically sourced crib that converts from mini crib to crib to toddler bed. Baby bawled every time we tried to put him in the mini crib but loved the bassinet pram and would only sleep in it or on me for the first three months. We used that second hand bassinet pram all of the time until he maxed out the weight limit and he wouldn’t let us put him another pram for the next six months so I carried him everywhere. The crib is still only used for short moments to contain our nearly one year old and has never been used for sleeping.
Depends surely on your lifestyle, if you’re driving everywhere very rarely using the pram etc then yeah a waste If you walk everywhere then I think you need a bulky/decent pram that’s good on all terrain and that does come with the price tag :)
I really loved my pram, it was a travel system, although knowing what I know now about car seats I would of bought one separately but big bulky prams have their place lol 😂
Mine was about £800. Used for just over a year then went to a stroller 🫠 Saving grace is that I saved it and now having my second so it will get more use!
My MIL bought ours for us she insisted I got to choose it came with car seat, carry cot, changing bag etc. we’re using it for baby number 2 now then I’ll sell it on much cheaper. But if we have a 3rd in a few years time I like the look of the jools aer or yoyo and use carrier more for baby whilst so little which I’m mostly doing now anyway.
We got ours brand new but second hand! The lady we got it off bought it before she found out the gender and then wanted a pink one. So we got a brand new in box cossato travel system with car seat included for £400 instead of the £999 it was in shops! Bargain! And I did use it until she was 2 and we moved away so needed something smaller!
Ours was just an investment really, it’s lasted us 3 years and it’s still going strong. I’d rather pay more for it to last longer than have to keep forking out more if it breaks or gets too small for her 🤷🏻♀️
I agree something they aren’t in for long. I spent £300 max on mine and my first pram cost me £30 😂 everyone used to ask where I got it from
Depends on your lifestyle i think - We had twins so ours was going to be expensive regardless but for us it was worth it
I got second hand!
Remember that all of them are made in China. Buggies in general are overpriced. But a bulky buggy with a big basket is necessary. For the first 2 years I did all my grocery shopping with my buggy. Bulky buggies also have better stability than compact buggies. I use a compact one just for travelling.

Spent loads of money on a pram when pregnant only to discover baby wearing.
My first pram was second hand from my sister and she also bought it second hand when she had her first kid and used it for both kids. When my 1st turned 11months, we bought a stroller from Facebook for £15 almost brand new as the pram is bulky and she was outgrowing it. So just imagine I had spent £1000 buying the pram just to need another one 11months later.
@𝔾𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖 I wouldn’t say necessary especially if you drive. My daughter stopped using hers at 10months. It took so much boot space and imagine carrying that after having a c section. My 10month old was out growing the stroller seat.
I agree to an extent in the majority of cases. It's also capitalism and consumerism af and that's not my vibe. Second hand on bulky items were possible purely for the environment impact imvho x
I mean if you have the money you choose what you spend it on. But for us that would be a lot of money and not something we could afford. Our pram was more like £400 and it suited us fine. I barely used it after one year because my son preferred to walk or be in the carrier so it definitely would have been a waste of money spending anymore on it.
1000 is ridiculous...you can get a really good pram for under 400 ...even still who tf is spending that amount on something they will outgrown very quickly...I mean luckily for some I suppose 💀🤣 What jobs do you people have 💀😳 omg I'd rather use that money to put toward an actual flat or house ...you can get many amazing types of prams and car seat and set for a really good price that way off 1000 ....we managed to get the car seat that also attaches to the pram and comes at a set for £189 for all of it and it wasn't second hand.it lasted 2 years before she got too big ..if your paying more than 500 thats just silly and a waste of money 🫠💀 We will properly have many different prams over the years to accommodate growth ... cheapest one we got was £30 and that was a pram for a toddler 🤣y'all are being played with prices ..
Yep, mine was £1000 in the sale!!!!! Madness. But we got it. Used it a handful of times. Too heavy for me to get in and out of the car so I now have a £100 buggy lol
I should add it came with car seat, pram seat, Moses type seat, isofix, changing bag and loads of random extras I’ve never needed lol
@Ema well we live in a walkable area so we can do errands quite easily, we walk to the park, to meet friends and if I have the choice, I rather walk instead of using the car and get a workout. I imagine if you can only move around by car the first thing you think about is something that fits in the trunk. I know people who have two, one for walking and one for the car. If you don't walk at all, why get a buggy in the first place?
I think you are overseeing that those prices are usually for travel systems, not just for a buggy. Travel systems come with baby car seat, carrycot, buggie and a bunch of accessories, not just the carrycot which is the one you say they outgrow after a few months. They can't get straight into a buggy when newborns. But what you did is also a great choice. Get one second hand.
I think it depends. I spent just under £1000 on the mamas and papas ocarro travel system which came with car seat, pram, pushchair and chassis and accessories. I am still using it 3.5 years later with my second baby. It’s been a great pushchair, a little heavy so I do use a lightweight stroller often but for longer walks especially in the countryside it’s great. Maybe I’d look for a second hand one if I had to get another one but I’ve no regrets
I think our pram 3 years ago was £1,500 for a bundle including the car seat? Although we only really used the big pram for around 10 months and then brought a yo-yo. This time Round I'll re use the newborn car seat, but definitely getting a new pram! X
For us it wasn't, we bought a bundle and have used it for the last three years. Due again in March and will use it for another 3+ years hopefully! We have a dog so wanted something robust. I walk wherever I can too so we've definitely had our money's worth. I think if you're using it for multiple children its 100% worth it too as it'll last.
Yes was a gift from mother in law brand new €1000 started to get problem after around one year. Hope it still functions fully with second
I agree they’re expensive, but I see it as an investment and we use it every day. I’m glad I spent a lot on a quality one

I have no regrets whatsoever about our Vista! Also an in laws gift which eased the blow but it is such a dream
@𝔾𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖 yeah the whole travel system which I think the name is funny as it is definitely not a travel stroller and is such an inconvenience taking on holiday. The carry cot is only as good as long as baby fits in and my baby outgrow her “big girl seat” by 10months and she wasn’t a big baby. We also needed a bigger car seat shortly after so it’s like spending £1000+ for under a year. And I realise you can do for other babies but if you are like me and don’t have much indoor storage or a garage, I had to keep in the car which means carrying such a heavy stroller out the boot and in everytime I wanted to go on a walk. I also had a c section so actually wasn’t advices to lift that heavy.
@𝔾𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖 I do walk but there are also lots of lightweight much cheaper strollers you can use from birth that are great for walking like the one we ended up buying at 10months
kind of agree although we spent about £800 for our pram. included car seat and it is a double for our baby and toddler so i think it was worth it, but still very expensive!
