@Helen ah this what I was thinking if I have the Friday off will I loose the bank holiday Monday isn’t a option as it’s my husband day off so he looks after LO
You'll just get the bank holiday off as normal if you work it. But if a bank holiday falls on a non-working day, you'll be entitled to the pro-rata time off to take another time.
Do whatever feels right for you! I take Fridays which is ideal in some ways as it's a quieter day at work but it also means that people use it to get their heads down and do work where as on my days I'm stuck in meetings most of the day 🙈 also because we do meeting free Fridays people often don't notice I'm not there and just expect 5 days of work out of me. You'll have your bank holiday entitlement pro rated too so bear that in mind.
The choices were always Monday, Wednesday or Friday for me. Monday or Friday obviously give you a longer weekend. Wednesday gives you a break half way through the week. I went for Monday and as Helen says, the pro-rata bank holiday situation works out in my favour so I get quite a lot of holiday despite dropping 20% of my hours
I have a Tuesday and a Friday because that’s what worked for me best. I’d say whatever works best for you and your family, but Friday’s are good lol
I do 34 hours over 4 days - I have Monday, Saturday, and Sundays off - his dad looks after him on a Thursday & he goes to childcare Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays. I think you have to do what works for you and the day to day arrangements
I have Wednesday off and it's great as I only have two days at work at a time 😊. My LO goes to grandparents Mon/Tues and nursery Thurs/Fri
I have Monday off. So I get 3 days off together. And most Bank Holidays fall on Monday, so I get the pro rata time added to my annual leave to take any time.
