Cycles after giving birth, regular to now not regular 😭

When I gave birth to my son I had 6/7 regular cycles which was a complete shock to me prior to falling pregnant they were all over the place. How after 7 months postpartum they became super irregular again, missing periods and now I’ve bleeding for last 4 months! Finally got my PCOS diagnosis yesterday after pushing for a scan. Doctors want me to go on the pill but I’m worried to because it took 2 years to conceive our son. I don’t want to try for baby no 2 until end of the year though. What are my options? I want to stop this bleeding😭 Any in a similar boat or been in a similar boat?

My own anecdotal experience. I went on BC for the first time right after my wedding. So I started in October and then stopped at the end of April, so I was on for about 7 months. I stopped because we wanted to conceive so I ate very healthily and ovulated 3 weeks after my period and got pregnant right away. Part of me thinks it kinda jumped started my hormones a bit

If your PCOS is tied to insulin resistance you could try metformin. I’m currently in a similar situation. 6m pp and I’m having a “period” about every 2 weeks. It took 5 years to conceive before and it only happened when my periods became regular while on metformin and I could track ovulation. I want to have another baby sooner rather than later so I don’t want to go back on bc. I’m going to ask to go back on metformin at my next appointment. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. The struggle is real. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

@Christian do you take the metformin alongside the pill or on its own? Thank you for responding 😌xx
