@Steamtrane Family it very overwhelming I had a second interview and heard nothing back, I hate having to chase companies because I feel they’re just being very unprofessional by ghosting people it’s so frustrating.
Yes it seems the demand is so high they don't have chance to email everyone unless successful which comes across as rude and it is really
My friend had an interview and it went okay but they said she didn't have enough experience for the job. Then when she left the interview she called them and said well how can I get the experience, do you offer training and the were impressed and invited back for second interview
@Steamtrane Family oh that’s awesome did she get the job in the end
@Steamtrane Family yeah I understand
Have you tried Councils customer service? They may be more flexible
Try the NHS, they have temporary bank bureaus attached to their HR, so check in with your local NHS trust, there are always reception roles etc when they come up
Could you do some free online training to make your CV stand out more?
@Cal yes I have applied , it’s just hard to get in unless u know someone who is working there already
@Chani yes I’m looking into it thank you
There’s also better courses you can do if you’re on a low income and get UC etc, they’re regional but worth looking into 😁
@Chani amazing I will look into it
I am no help but I feel you as I’m in the same position but I got made redundant at the very beginning of my pregnancy and had no luck with jobs. It’s horrible looking and getting nowhere with no responses. I hope something will turn up for you very soon!
Councils don’t work on people know. They can’t. Lots of tick boxing. They have a strict scoring system so if you’ve not shown how you met every single essential criteria on the job description (and ideally some desirable) they won’t interview.

Sadly part time jobs are hard to come by especially in healthcare even as admin (NHS mentioned). Your best bet is to go in at full-time for a short while and then drop your hours to part time. I have been with my current NHS trust for 3+ years and just now I am getting the opportunity to drop to 3 days a week.
Ive been working as a cleaner for a year in peoples homes and its very flexible! Especially with 2 kids at nursery. Maybe try that route?
@Alex I did this whilst pregnant. It was a good job, I just did four hours a day, I could of done one or two, it's great when have new baby too.
Also was £15 hour but if you start company yourself you can charge like £25-30 hour and keep all for yourself if you do it ✨🙂
You can also be the manager of the cleaning company but don't actually clean, get the rate of £25 pay your cleaner their rate and keep the rest, stay at home with baby, do the appointment schedules etc from laptop or phone still earning.
@Chani what kind of courses Chani?
@Steamtrane Family there’s all sorts, I’ll see if I can find the link I found before. That’s the funded ones though, there’s also free ones on things like future learn too
@Steamtrane Family https://freecoursesinengland.co.uk
@Chani Thank you x
Also if you love children you could do childminding pays well work from home own schedule
@Chani I'm actually studying three courses at the moment but looking for my next three when these end this month
@Cal oh okay
@Linda yeah I know but I can only afford to pay for part time nursery fees I don’t really have family to help with LO for the other two days
@Jessica it’s not easy, thank you good luck to you too
@Alex I don’t have any cleaning jobs experience because all have always done is office work

@Steamtrane Family I was actually thinking about this last month☺️ thank you girl
You dont need any! I was trained, just aslong as your a good listener etc youd be fine!
You're very welcome ✨
Don't sacrifice time with baby being tricked into the system working five days a week 9 hours day for peanuts, you can have all the time or alot more time with your little one and earn way more, don't settle, don't rush, do something you enjoy, you can do it girl
@Steamtrane Family wow I needed to hear this 🙌🏽thanks girl
You are your child's mother that's your job, you don't need to work to pay childcare, teach your child, enjoy your time together
It is very frustrating, it seems there is always work advertised but there seems to be more poeple wanting the jobs than ever before. My partner was applying for jobs for four months which we thought was ridiculous and he finally got a factory job which pays okay and has other perks and benefits such as the hours and free or cheap food. Don't give up and if you can try and create your own work form home job, small business, people like to support this especially new mums, what do you enjoy what could you make sell provide.
