Progesterone

So I have PCOS and I feel like I’m getting overexcited for no reason right? So my progesterone in December was 0.1 and then jumped to 9.2 this January after I’ve been taking a medication my dr gave me for ovulation. I had sex all three ovulation days but I don’t feel pregnant so am I just overthinking?

It’s totally normal to have no pregnancy symptoms at all especially in the first few weeks of pregnancy. When I had my son I almost missed the second line on my test because I expected it to be negative and barely looked. I didn’t have any symptoms until about 8 weeks when I started getting a bit nauseous. Can I ask what medication you’re on? I’m considering talking to my doctor to see if I can do anything about my luteal phase that’s only 8 or 9 days

Letrozole & metformin @Jessica

Thankyou!

@Nevaeh Are you diabetic? Letrozole makes the eggs grow on their own and can be sufficient (I’ve done 9 cycles with it with 3 pregnancies). Metformin is a weaker medicine often given to diabetic/pcos patients to grow the eggs. It has a ton of side effects and no guarantee if it will help (it never worked for me and just made me horribly sick). So it’s kinda a this or this medicine situation. Doctors usually prescribe Letrozole as it’s more effective then Clomid for PCOS and if you can’t release the eggs they give you Ovidrel injection. Also you might want to ask your doctor for progesterone suppositories from 2 days after ovulation till your period or 10w pregnancy as you need higher progesterone for a nice lining and a good pregnancy.

@Boryana im not a diabetic i was told the metformin could help with my cysts as well as the pcos and that the letrozole was gonna help me ovulate and i could possibly have twins on the medication. So far they have only given me the letrozole to take 3-4 days worth of pills after my last period I might be getting more during me next appointment but im not sure

@Nevaeh Letrozole is just for a few days. It forces the eggs to grow. If this cycle fails they can give it to you for the next cycle. Can you have twins on this?-Absolutely…is the chance high-no. I had 3 mature eggs this cycle so as I was joking with my husband we can have triplets…or god forbid if they split… :D but in reality more than likely just one will be successful. Also don’t take Letrozole for more than 6cycles (honestly more than 4)…give yourself some break to avoid ovarian hyperstimulation as that hurts. Honestly idk why they’ve given you metformin on top of Letrozole… sure it’s good for pcos but Letrozole already is doing what Metformin would. Are you seeing a fertility specialist or just a gynecologist as it sounds like something a gynecologist would do.

@Boryana im probably gonna have twins anyway cause my husband is next in line of the men of his family to have twins 😂

@Nevaeh yeah twins are determined by the woman :D otherwise I would be doomed as all my husbands family has is twins :D
