Stressing

Im starting to get really stressed out and don’t know what to do or who to turn to! So im having a planned section due to health issues (not allowed to go into natural labour but I went into labour with my first at 38 weeks which is dangerous for me and baby). Im 32 weeks tomorrow and haven’t yet had my date but so many other mums have their dates around 35 weeks. I have an appt scheduled with a consultant at 37 weeks. How does this make any sense? They can’t give me like a week or less notice before having my section. Also on top of that, I have gd which means I may even have to have baby at 37 weeks! What do I do 😔

I had GD and a breech baby and got my date 6 days before at 38 weeks.

@Cal with my first I had my date at 35 weeks and still ended up going into labour so you’d think second time round they’d give me an earlier date because of me risking going into labour..

I'm Type 1 Diabetic and they refused to give me a date. They were telling me the system won't allow for anything to be booked etc. That was all BS! At my 34 week (+4 days) appointment, a doctor finally listened to my concerns and she booked it on the spot for 38+1 weeks! I went into labour at 35 weeks, 3 days later 😂 But still, keep asking for it and keep mentioning your reasons and your anxiety.

@Mantha surely they should have all my reasons on their system? it’s absolutely pathetic that they let us go through this. me going into natural labour could actually kill me I just don’t know who to contact anymore. My midwife has sent them emails and requested an earlier date but they ignore her!

They definitely should. Although, for example, my GP was asking me for months to do tests you don't do during pregnancy cause no one had checked the system to see I'm pregnant... So I wouldn't trust them too much. It definitely is pathetic! Keep asking and make sure that at least, and make sure to see that it's written down, you've requested a C-section, so that even if you go into labour, they still do the section. I went into labour and they still did the C-section.

Make sure next time you're down for a section I had my date 2 weeks after signing my consent form to say I was having a section. I would keep bugging them until they get you sorted x

Hey! I’m 28 weeks pregnant with twins and have very low platelets, making natural birth unsafe for me. I’ve been advised to have a C-section under general anaesthesia. When I asked about the timing of the C-section, they told me they’d inform me just a week before!!

@Naomi they know I need to have a section from my very first appointment when I told them I was pregnant. I don’t know who to contact? X

@sadaf see that’s so bad! I don’t understand how they can do this so late!

Contact your midwife as first point of call. If she can't help contact the hospital and be asked to put through to the consultants the midwife should be able to help though x

@Naomi I have and she’s aware of all of it, she’s tried contacting the hospital but she’s getting ignored and now she’s on annual leave x

I'm sorry that sounds so frustrating hope it's sorted soon xx

@Naomi it really is, thank you lovely xx
