Glucose Tolerance Test

I’m due mine the 18th of February, will be really nice to read from others on how theirs went😊

I had mine last week. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was called in had bloods taken then went back 2 hours later for 2nd blood test. No delays

I had mine a few weeks back and I was dreading the no eating and I also wasn’t allowed to drink water either. It was actually okay a lot better than I thought! Once I’d had the glucose drink I was allowed to sip water which helped and I just made sure I made up for it that day with nice treats ☺️

Had mine last week. Third time l went home feeling so sick and weak. Like a bad hangover it’s that warm very sweet drink 🤢… I’d say take the day off work and sleep if you can

Had mine this morning, really wasn’t looking forward to it as I have HG and my triggers are not eating and having to drink on an empty stomach, but it was fine. I was still able to take medication just with water. I’d had my first bloods and drank the drink by 9am (wouldn’t drink it through choice but it was bearable, I got given a ‘neutral’ flavour and it was just really sweet). Then I had to sit in a waiting room, I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere. My midwife had warned me so I’d downloaded something on my phone and read my book, but there was a tv in the room I could’ve turned on. Had my second blood test at about 10.55 and the midwife gave me a sandwich as soon as I was done! Waiting for results now but overall not as bad as I thought it would be 😊

I had mine in January, it was fine actually , not a big deal as long as your appointment before 9/9:30. I did it in Spain as relocated here for winter but even the flavour of the drink was okay and it was cold ish for me, so tasted like very sweet cheap lemonade. Just make sure you can get food after the test ( and something savoury as I felt slightly sickish ). I asked my brother to bring me takeaway avocado toast to the hospital parking 😁 I had to sit just for exactly 1 hour and they asked me to put alarm on so I don’t miss. Download a movie or something
