Plus size & pregnant.

So I have always been a healthy weight, but my daughter who I had 16 months ago absolutely destroyed me. I ate and ate for 9 months straight and I doubled in weight. I’m not a plus size gal and I can admit, I am over weight. I did not do anything about trying to lose my baby weight; I wanted to enjoy my baby and not obsess over exercise etc. I know I would I am that type of person unfortunately. Anyway, I have found out I’m pregnant again but this time I’m doing pregnancy as overweight and really I would just like to hear others stories and experiences being more on the weighty side and pregnant. My midwife made me feel like the biggest pile of shit and has made me worry about so many things now. Thank you 🫶🏼

What are you calling plus size?

Hi I couldn’t read this and not say something - first if I’m sorry your midwife made you feel like crap I was plus size with my last pregnancy and my current- with my first I had awful experiences with certain staff at hospital - but I never spoke up about them ! So if anyone who is meant to provide your care treats you badly because of your weight speak up ! My weight didn’t significantly affect my pregnancy I was a size 24 had no issues regarding diabetes or any extra movement issues Obviously there are some situations where your weight may be mentioned for example in my scan notes it says poor visibility due to obesity but that’s just for the records The funniest was them trying to find compression socks to fit my tree trunk legs This time around i lost 3 stone pre pregnancy and put it all back on before 12 weeks I spoke to my midwife about this who just told me to eat what I can when I can and not to worry about it ! Xx be kind to yourself xx

Ugh girl my doctor made me feel like shit too I’m so sorry. I met my husband and I was maybe 140 and then i gained a bunch of weight and got to like 165 and then I got pregnant and hit almost 200 and my doctor tried to tell me I had to get a c section because my weight was unhealthy moral of the story speak up and get different doctors I got a new one and gave birth no problems no c section

@Maddie what the hell?! I was 208 when I gave birth and my doctor never once said my weight was an issue. That's insane.

@Amanda she was the worst we switched doctors in the middle of me giving birth I was in labor for about 10 hours and her and the nurses were trying to force me do get a c section and we kicked them all out and got new nurses and the other ob on call came in and he was amazing

@Maddie that is insane. I was in labor for 17 hours and had to have an emergency c section because my daughter's heart rate kept dropping but my doctor was 100% supportive of trying for a natural birth.

@Amanda see that makes sense but nothing was even wrong I got induced cuz she was a big old baby lol and that’s why it was taking so long plus it was my first baby
