That's super strange. Are you going to a regular OB/GYN office?
@Audrey yes regular OB office.
@L L ugh that’s what I’ve been thinking about. To just switch :(
Seconding - definitely get one. I’m also pretty sure it’s covered under general prenatal testing with insurance…
I’m 28 weeks. I’ll be 29 when I take my glucose test. So I think you still have time.
I am almost 31 weeks and I just got my test so I think you're fine, you can still get it!
@Ashley for me it was only the A1C
@Jennifer You can always get a glucose monitor from any pharmacy in its very rasable Price you check it in the morning before you eat or drink If it's a 100 or lower your perfect But no lower than 70 And then I would eat something and start the timer the first bite do it for 2 hours A good range should be no more than a 120 No less than 70 Do that for a couple of days That would be something I would do And also keep a log of it and show your Doctor at your next appointment This will definitely give you a piece of mind and plus you need to know your numbers while pregnant I still do mine every day Because I like to know how healthy I'm eating from my beautiful baby
Weird. It’s standard. They were mad I waited til 28 weeks they wanted it between 24-26 weeks
The glucose tolerance test for GD should be done with or without history of diabetes. (If you have history or family history of diabetes it’s usually done in early second trimester). This is a standardized test that’s usually done at the end of second/ beginning of third trimester (at 28 weeks). It’s not too late to do it I think you’re right on time !! Keep advocating for yourself and I would look into switching to a different care team if you feel like they’re lacking.
